How are the Thunder an exciting team to watch when half their games are spent shooting free throws? The Suns gorilla mascot is probably the best in the league. The dude owns. Jazz were from NOLA but moved. Why they kept the name, I'll never know.

Nothing to do with support, as much as everything to do with owners strong arming cities into paying to build arenas every damn ****ing time. Seattle, and later the people of Seattle, didn't want to have to foot the bill for another stadium, so the owners took the team and left. There is also some more scandals with the move as well, I haven't gotten to watch this (just learned about it) but supposedly shows some of those:
sonicsgate.org
Also, apparently when the new owners bought the Sonics, they did it with intent to move them Oklahoma City, they were basically just looking for a reason to move the team. Shit, Seattle has some of the best attendance for MLS GAMES, I have a hard time believing they couldn't get a ton of support, especially with the team the Thunder have.Last edited by Red_Lizard2; 01-29-12 at 05:42 AM.

01-29-12, 08:45 AM #64That is like saying you want to have the best omelet, but you don't want to break any eggs. For sports teams to be competitive they have to have good stadiums and TV deals. To get a good stadium they ask the city to help, since the city will also benefit. I can understand a city not wanting to cooperate, but don't blame the team when they want to move because of it.

Teams also have the responsibility to stay profitable, so that they can bring in new revenues to remain competitive in the long run as well. The fact that the owners thought they could make more money in a smaller market with a new stadium than in the larger market with decent attendance indicates just how bad their previous stadium was.

They ask the city for help because THEY don't want to pay for a stadium (they are money pits, pure and simple). They could of easily built there own stadium, hell they probably have more money then whole city of Seattle. But then they have to deal with something that *shock* isn't profitable, and why do that when we can just force taxpayers to foot the bill for whatever the fuck we want, or just leave and give them the middle finger.
