It is one thing picking the wrong person because of talent, but damn, they drafted talent with Oden. Oden has always looked much more than his age. Guess his body reflects that as well. I'm not sure any other team has had as bad of luck with key picks than Portland.

The thing is, Oden wasn't a bad pick. They had aldridge and Brandon Roy as two young stars, and they needed a big man. Just sucks Oden's body is more delicate than an antique porcelain knick knack.

Hornets and state agree to a lease that would keep the team in NOLA through 2024: http://www.nba.com/hornets/news/gove...012_03_16.html

Good. Now we just need to hit big in the draft and get Gordon to stop being a pussy ass bitch.

Hopefully they rebrand the team as well.

Gordon tried playing through it and it got worse. Not worried about him at all. I am fine with him not playing this season just in case we get too many wins to bump us out of a draft slot.

Now if only the Timberwolves could lose out...

    Re: NBA 2011-2012

The wolves are gonna drop a ton of games with Rubio out. I'm just worried Gordon will walk at the end of this year and we will see practically nothing from the CP3 trade aside from the 1st rounder we got.

I'd like to see Kaman stay, but we'd have to dump Oakafor somehow and no one wants that contract. If we can land two lottery picks and keep Gordon and Kaman....we'd have a SOLID team that I think could contend in a couple of years.

Gordon is not going to walk. He would lose tens of millions of dollars. I hate Kaman as a player and would much prefer to keep Oak. Both need a huge paycut. During this rebuilding phase, Okafors contract doesn't really hurt.

No team is going anywhere with Kaman as the starting center. Okafor is great as the fourth best player on ypur team. Kaman doesn't have the defensive skills to make up for being the third option on offense and isn't efficient enough to warrant more touches than that.

    Re: NBA 2011-2012

hi. i'm the biggest nba fan i know so this thread is refreshing.

i'm a pacer fan who is a knicks season ticket holder (and i admit my 2nd fav team is the knicks now that the rivalry between the two teams is virtually non-existent in comparison to the 90's).

anyways, just to talk some shit to stir the pot:

    1. tyson chandler deserves mvp votes this year (like he should finish in the top 8 to top 10 in voting, each voter gets 10 tiered votes)

    2. nothing summarizes the toronto raptors franchise like this:

a week or so ago in a home game with seconds left, the raptors had 98 points. if they scored 100 they'd get free pizza for the home fans. stan van gundy's reaction is priceless in the 2nd video.
(awww you can't embed here? -_-)

    3. lebron is easily the best basketball player in the universe and his 4th quarter woes are real but shouldn't overshadow the fact that NOBODY is really close to him but KD

    4. kevin love should finish 3rd in mvp voting behind LBJ & KD

    5. the only four tough euros in the nba are, in order, pekovic (i just feel like he'd actually crumple me up and swallow me whole and digest me instantly), gortat (country of origin keeps him off the top spot), asik, kanter

BTW to add sth to the KD/ODEN draft fiasco, it wasn't portland's fault AT ALL. at the time nobody was questioning it even in the slightest (not seriously anyway, the "greg oden is actually 55 years old" arguments seemed convincing though)

anyone saying they were wrong is saying so in hindsight only

Yes, another poster! And I love the Knicks because they give me something to laugh at every week.

Marc Gasol is a tough Euro. Tony Parker drives into the lane with reckless abandon. If you don't think he's tough, you should have the same opinion about Westbrook. I'm sure there are a few others that I can't think of right now.

Monty Williams is looking to be a good coach that is getting the most out of his roster. Will be interesting to see how he does if he ever gets a talent-laden roster.

Blake Griffin is a huge bitch, whiner, and flopper.
