Girlfriend Broke Up With Me

Hey Everyone, I need to bitch. My girlfriend of a year just broke up with me. I thought it was getting serious and was even thinking about engagement.

She said she didn't have feelings for me anymore. She lives in Akron and I live in Pittsburgh (1 1/2 hours away) I just moved here for a job. She has one more year in school and was going to move out here with me once she graduated.

It came out of nowhere. She visited me one week ago. Had sex with me. Told me how much she loved me. Then completely tore my world apart. It's just hard because so much of my life was built around her. I just don't know how to move on from this.

just breath for a bit. gather yourself. something obviously happened. either she met someone else, or she got cold feet or who knows what. she may come around, or she may not, either way the ball is in her court not yours, so you've got to give her space. no calls, espcially no drunken calls, no emails, texts. nada.

now hopefully you've moved to a spot where you've got some friends that you can blow off some steam with. if not, you're probably feeling a bit worse off than you might otherwise cause you're a little lonely. this means you've got to get off that couch and get the fuck outside immediately. like right after you finish reading this, even if just for a walk to the store. keep going out, to the park, or wherever. just try avoiding the bar.

some good ideas: join a running club. can't tell you how many girls are in running clubs. they're casual, good exercise and will make you feel great.

get a sport hobby, like basketball, softball, kickball or golf (or all). try crossfit, it's a pretty tight nit community with things going on outside the gym.

get on match.com, a few quick dates here and there will get your mind off her and remind you there are plenty of fish in the sea. you can be dating by this friday.

above all, no calls, and get off your ass. the sooner you accomplish those the better.

My ex-gf and I was engaged for 6 years.

Probably someone else she met. I had the same thing happen except we had sex and the I love you's and the next day she broke up with me. So I did what any man would do, I went hunting and I fucked her hot ass cousin that weekend. It all works out in the end.

well i did go hunting and i did do her cuz, but what i mean by workign out. it was tuff for a while because i too based my life around her so i was a little lost. so i said i was going to do what i do best hit it and quit & never get serious again. worked great till i met this witch & she rocked my world and before i knew she casted a spell on me and next thing i know i was married and then i tried to poisoned her with sperm and she had a baby. 6 years later I'm very happy this lady fucked up my life :P Seriously though the best thing that ever happend to me, was the ex breaking up with me.

I too have had the awful break-up. My advice is it's not the end of the world. Your sole goal in life is to make yourself happy and you don't need someone else to make that happen. Life will go on and you will end up finding another person that you can love more than you loved this girl. It's inevitable and human nature. I believe in one true love, but I also believe that you can love others a long the way before you find that one person that really pops out at you and makes you feel the way no one has ever made you feel. It's hard to find...

to add to that, all the mistakes you made with this ex you won't make with your future wife. You learn as you go.

Thanks guys and Star Wars did help me cheer up haha. I know absolutely noone in Pittsburgh which makes it even harder. I have to stay here on weekends and I spend most of the time by myself. It's rough cause now all I can think about is that.
