3 hours to kill the battery? Thats a serious short. It should be pretty easy to find. Knowing it dies that fast you can eliminate almost all minor systems. Power window and seat motors, head light switch, alt, ignition wiring to include coil, starter and started solenoid, and fan motors are all that come to mind at the moment for a short like that. I have to run for about an hour. When i get back i'll tell you how to check each system but it would be helpful if you had even a cheap ass meter from radio shack. Either way we can find it and fix it. I can make the list and you can run thru them after you see if the coil fixes the problem if you like.

Ok im back.
You should have a fuse for damn near everything on the list. I recommend pulling all of those item when you have time to let the vehicle sit and test it for a start. A few of those will have relays as well which can also short out. Obviously power seats and windows are something you can pull and leave out for the duration.
The way you can make this trick work is by pulling all of those components and place them back in one at a time until you find the one that makes the battery drain. Without a meter this is your best option. For those items like fans, starter, lights, and sometimes the charging system you have to pull both the fuse and the relay. You place them back in fuse first then wait the normal time and put the relay. They have to be done seperatly or you can go looking for a wire when it was the relay that was the problem. Once you find the system that is the drain we can go thru tracking the wiring or likely issue with that system.
Now if you wish to purchase a cheap meter you can speed the process up by checking for .5 volt drains every 30 minutes instead of 3 hour start times. Dont forget the head light switch trick i gave you. Like i said those switches have issues to begin with.
If you need any help let me know. If you need to talk it thru on the phone send me a pm and i'll give you my number.

Normally I stay away from automobile type questions such as this... HOWEVER this reminds me of a problem I had with a camaro I used to drive... I would park it and come back with the battery drained after just a few hours... I took it to the dealer and after checking it, the service manager came up to basically tell me wtf from the tech... the electric lock on the driver side was bad(short in the switch) which caused the entire wiring harness in the drivers side to fry... coincedentally draining the battery super quick because when tested the switch was processing very frequently... (silently) of course so I couldn't hear it going off :P
