Re: DeathGod / Other Mechanic Types I need assistance!
Disconnect the negative battery cable and use a DVOM to measure the amp draw on the batery. Make sue key is out of the ignition everything is of and there is no under hood light(if it has a under hood light take the bulb out) Truthfully the first thing I'd do is take the battery have have tested with a real battery tester...one that uses a carbon pile load. I've seen more batteries fool poeple, just because it looks good or its new doesn't mean it's good.
You nver ansewered my question does the car run?deputyfestus liked this post

I have another question is the brake light on(in the dash) when the car is running? If so the alternator has a bad diode and will drain the battery.
These thing I'm telling you are the first things you should be doing.

Re: DeathGod / Other Mechanic Types I need assistance!
Well the car was running, but there was apparently a draw on the battery, and the mechanic suggested a coil pack, so i figured I'd be industrious and change it out myself. I just wasn't sure if there was an issue with the ignition module, or if that was normal for it to look like that.
Now, to sound like a complete idiot, the coil pack is numbered and the spark plug wires are numbered, so I can connect those no problem. I seem to have forgotten which color wire went where and I couldn't get the car to turn over, adjusted the arrangement and it turns over and immediately shuts off now, so I'm still wrong, but I'm not sure which wires to swap. Any chance you can tell by the picture which wires from the ignition module go to where on the coil pack?
Otherwise I'll probably have a friend that actually knows what the hell he is doing help me try and reconnect the shit.

Re: DeathGod / Other Mechanic Types I need assistance!
Alright, so I found a diagram and got the distributor installed and the car runs. I'm leaving the battery plugged in (ran the car for about 15 minutes). I'll see if I can start it without jumping after classes. If it dies, I might take it to a more battery centric place and get it properly tested and see if that could be an issue. It is probably a 36 month battery nearing the end of it's life anyways. Otherwise if the car runs fine and just drains I'm almost tempted to just keep disconnecting the battery when I park her and reconnect it when I drive away. Huge pain in the ass, but if I can get this car to just last me to october / the drive to california I can junk her there.
