TPG Winter meetup?

The Intel LAN in San Diego is another thought. We already have a few regs that go, SD is a nice town with nice weather, and there is a LAN going on with prizes and such (cheap entertainment). If all we are going to do is go to a bar, Minneapolis is as good as any.......maybe we can put some hair on some chests and show you fools what ice fishing is all about. Either way, one trip to Texas per year is more than enough.

Heh, if I could make it up again I would love Minnesota, the winters are nice and cool!

More of a Gopher Hockey fan, really. I used to bleed purple, but after 4 decades of failure, a stadium that has no real tailgating possible, and $100+ per ticket, they can kiss my ass.

LANfest would be cool. As for egocentric to hold it in Texas it has nothing to do with ego, and everything to do with getting the most people to attend. Hell, I would love to hold TPGCon in Maui every February, but my guess is it would be a 2 person event with myself and my wife. While that would still be loads of fun it wouldn't really fit the bill as a TPG meetup.

So my only goal in discussing this is to get the biggest turnout possible. If people that have no intention of going regardless are throwing out ideas like Minna-fucking-sota then it makes me want to kick them in the nuts.

If however we have a location that could get 50 people there I am willing to travel anywhere.

Lake of the Isles.....Mille Lacs (Walleye capital of the World)....Leech......Red....Winnebegosh....or any of the other 12,000+ lakes up here. When it comes to ice fishing, we have it covered. You Sconny boys can pipe-up when we start talking about alcoholism and serial killers.
