Thread: you get that feeling

Where you think that you walked out on the best thing in your life. You think that you'll never find anything else, and if you could just get over some small things and all will be good. But then you start to remember some of the worst times, and the times when you felt like crap. But then the rush of good memories comes in and evens things out. Now I'm back to square one, and wondering if I made the right decision. I doubt there is a way to go back, but do I want to? Ack!

And welcome to life after the relationship....I went through that same bullshit for months, Find a best friend, Cry your heart out to them let it go in one shot and be done with it and never revisit it ever again, Also find your favorite band or a band that you can relate how you feel right now the most to, Their music will help you cope, For me it was godsmack, because i hated/hate my x listening to godsmack helped me relieve all my inner demons, Because i could relate to most of their songs with my emotions.

I had a relationship that lasted seven years; we shared everything, but we also made each other crazy.

I still think about her with longing sometimes. We split up about 2.5 years ago. We are both much healthier now. It was hard, but we should have done it sooner. Generally, those things you remember that were good, are just that: Good. But the things you remember that were bad, you are only seeing the tip of the iceberg in those memories, because you miss what could have been. Consider the other things that could have been; the things that are not good.


In any case, a major change in life is a great stressor; it is also an opportunity to change other aspects of your life easily at the same time. Take advantage of those crossroads Ae posted... you have many choices. They are all yours to make.

Be strong and have conviction in the changes you see that you need to make for you to grow.

Agreed with this as well, When i broke up with my x i was 205lbs at 5'9, Broke up with her and chose to let out all my anger and stress in my music and in the gym, I distracted my mind with something to do instead of sit and sulk, I did research on nutrition and what the right foods were to eat and found a workout routine, Now im back down to what i was when i graduated highschool which was 175-185 and i couldnt be happier with myself and even with the muscle gains i now have as well. Just separate yourself from all that nonsense and get yourself focused on something you're passionate about.

But my mind is especially torturous, I keep having thoughts of her gettin down on some douche. It's a disturbing thought that I can help. I'll be fine. Eating my lunch, watchin the daily show (grrr) and then afterwards, I hear this moaning and a flash of a naked body and Bill Lumburgh givin her a TPS report. Ack!
