Texas A&M versus Alabama
So ... let's get this thing "rolling."
Some of you may know that Texas A&M and Alabama have some unique ties/commonalities.
First, it was Texas A&M that taught the great one, Paul "Bear" Bryant all he knew about football. It was the Bear's stint with Texas A&M from 1954 to 1957 that honed his football skills. The Bear was a quick learner. Having been well prepared at Texas A&M, the Aggies let the Bear go to Alabama to teach them how to play football. While at Alabama, Bear Bryant earned six national titles, two of which were as co-champtions.
Second, similar to the Bear, Gene Stallings refined his skills at Texas A&M. Stallings played for Texas A&M and coached Texas A&M to a win over Alabama in the Cotton Bowl back in 1968. In 1992, Stallings delivered a MNC to Alabama.
Finally there was the sad occasion of Dennis Francione. Feeling for our friends in Alabama we took it upon us to help "Fran" improve on his football skills. Regrettably, Texas A&M was unable to right the ship and as we helped the elephants with their unburden themselves of "Fran," we paved the way for the Tide to pick up that no name coach Saban.

As it was once healded, on the not too distant fields of team play, on imagined battles on the internet ... where Ranger was an RPG whore, the Manno clan dominated the skies, and Commander charged into an unoccupied village as the JDAM he requested came crashing down upon his head (still got you in my prayers Commander, I hope you are well and things are getting better) ...
...
Time to crush 'bama ...

Re: Texas A&M versus Alabama
LA Tech also has the #1 offense in the nation (when looking at net total yards - while A&M is #3, Oregon at #2, and Bama at #52). Patton is also one of the best WR in the NCAA - that offense is crazy good.
If the Aggies do not turn the ball over, I believe A&M has the biggest chance to pull out a win against Bama. LSU had their chance, and obviously blew it. Bama's defense is freaking awesome, but A&M's offense is just as awesome.. So who knows. It will be interesting.
I'm not going to make any predictions.. I am just going to watch the game and let both teams do the talking.

Re: Texas A&M versus Alabama
I agree with BigHub (of course you say). Really, if the Aggies can avoid turnovers (5/6 to LSU?) our offense will likely score a lot on Alabama. The question then becomes, can Alabama score points on our Aggies ...
Alabama is a good team. It will be a tough one for us, but I like our chances. At the very least, it will be a good game I think. And yes, you owe us for Fran!

Here are some things about JM and the Aggies that one might consider:
Johnny Manziel accounted for six touchdowns, including two to fend off a late rally, and Texas A&M held on for a 59-57 win over Louisiana Tech to hand the Bulldogs their first loss.
...
Manziel ran for 181 yards and three touchdowns and threw for 395 yards and three more scores. Manziel had 576 yards of total offense to break his school and Southeastern Conference records.

Texas A&M Football: 5 Things Johnny Manziel Can Do to Frustrate Alabama | Bleacher Report
After redshirting a year ago, Manziel won the starting QB gig in the fall and hasn’t looked back. Through nine games, the former Tivy High School (near San Antonio) product has completed 203 of 305 passes (66.6 percent) for 2,527 yards and 16 touchdowns in leading Texas A&M to a surprising 7-2 record. But, despite the impressive passing numbers, it is Manziel’s feet that make him arguably the toughest player in college football to defend.
...
Entering Week 11, Manziel leads the SEC in rushing yards (922), rushing touchdowns (15) and is tied with Georgia true freshman Todd Gurley for the most carries ( 138 ) in the league. He also ranks second nationally in total points accounted for with 186, which trails only Northern Illinois quarterback Jordan Lynch’s 210.
I admit that he scares the crap out of me some times! I look forward to seeing what he can do against the Alabama defense.
We have issues with kicking (FG), depth (defense), and our secondary ... turnovers once in a while. We also have a few nicks and dings ... we've played a game every weekend since Sept. 8.Last edited by Amador +JP2+; 11-07-12 at 01:48 AM.

Re: Texas A&M versus Alabama
A&M was shit till Bear.
Junction Boys: Texas A&M won only one game against nine losses, the only losing season in Bryant's 38 years as a head coach. In 1955 Texas A&M went 7-2-1, and in 1956, the team went 9-0-1 and won the southwest conference.
Stallings learned from Bear. Played and coached under Bear Bryant
Dennis Francione was never a championship coach, just a slime ball.
Also note that it took Bear half the years to get to 300 wins as it did all other coaches.

Hmmm ... The Junction Boys (TV 2002) - IMDb ... Well, we won a MNC before Bear and didn't with Bear. Agree with the rest, especially about Fran.
