11-26-12, 11:49 AM #1forced medical leave
School is forcing me into medical leave. I've been on a new medication regimen for the last month and have been doing well. Being told I have no choice but to go on leave has crushed me. I'm hyper-ventilating and freaking out. I have to call my parents. They're going to be mad just like when I went on voluntary medical leave before when I was initially diagnosed. I can't take this right now. You guys are great, but I need to be near my friends IRL to continue making forward progress with my depression. I'm also not going to be able to get a job since I'll only be home for 10 weeks. Can't stop crying.
enf-Jesus its been like 12 minutes and you're already worried about stats?! :-P

Thanks, Bunni.
Feeling a little better now. My best friend is helping me pack everything up. I'm going to try and turn this into a positive by learning everything I can on my own. Did that the last time with physics.enf-Jesus its been like 12 minutes and you're already worried about stats?! :-P

WTF?
Well... you have the right idea... face to face friends will convey emotion, which will help in getting the right expression. Although a respirator may be needed.
Text friends (real or virtual) are difficult to read, for their emotional expression can not be seen. Perhaps video chat might be better, but then you have the lack of scent to take into account.
For instance: Your friend let's out a fart while your talking. It's a realy fucking stinky fart, but it's a silent fart. You unfortunately have no idea they farted and therefore perceive their expression as a negative reaction to your comment.
real... virtual... whatever pros... cons... meh positive... negative... yeah

Parents were surprisingly supportive. I have half a mind to go enroll in a community college, apply to UTD (hell of a lot cheaper, in Dallas). I'm tired of being treated like crap by my school. I also don't want to lose the momentum my new Med regimen has allowed. I'm finally in a place where my meds are not going to be changing.

OMG...they want it for a year. That's a year delay to get a degree. That would be the last straw. Definitely transferring.
