Guy pulled out in front of my car last thursday.....
So yeah, the guy was either crossing my street to get to the alley or was turing left into the alley right in front of me. I was going 25mph so there was no way he didn't see me. I wasn't looking to the left as I was pulling up to a red light and was preparing to stop.....
my brand new 2012 Mazda 3 Skyactiv.......
The other thing was the guy had to veer to his right to make it into the alley, so he was turning into my car..... that and his is made of steel... here is the damage to his car:
That last one is a picture of the other driver..... I have proof so they can't switch drivers on me or claim more damage than what actually happened. (Which is the case for my last accident)
I am still waiting to hear how much it is going to cost to fix (I am hoping for totaled as it will never be the same)-- Intentionally Left Blank --

Glad no one was hurt.
I don't know your insurance, but I'd be very surprised if it was totaled. I had an accident years ago with a new car and the whole front end, both airbags, windshield etc. were replaced. It was about $7500 damage on a $15000 car. That car was never the same. I hear the totaled value varies between 50% and %75 of the cars value.
Good luck with getting it fixed/replaced.

Re: Guy pulled out in front of my car last thursday.....
Well the car is worth about 18K right now according to KBB.
The pictures don't show it well, but the car is about 1 foot shorter than it used to be.... air bag deployed in the stering wheel. The frame (unibody technically) is seriously bent. I don't know how hard it is to repair hollow aluminum framework, but that's gotta be hard.
Neither of the headlight assemblies are attached (except by the power cords).
I had to drive it about 20 feet to get out of the intersection and it was making a terrible screeching/grinding noise..... so yeah, it sucks that I don't know yet what the damage is, everyone is off for the holiday.-- Intentionally Left Blank --

If they do not total it tell them you want to be compensated for the diminishing value of the vehicle now that it is wrecked. I did that on an infiniti several years ago when my wife was rear ended (save the jokes) and got about $4,500 extra over the repairs. I also made them pay for her to sign the medical release.
Just be calm, respectful and reasonable. If it is a good insurance company they will do the same.

All depends on the frame...my wife got rear-ended and the car didn't look a whole lot worse than what you have there...figured they would just replace the quarter panels, rear fender and trunk...ended up totaling it for 16k...still waiting for all the medical shit to be done from that...they couldn't do a whole lot because she was pregnant...but that's a whole different story.

Re: Guy pulled out in front of my car last thursday.....
I did in both cases..... the police report in philly (the previous accident) did not mention the amount of damadge nor the other drivers name, just the owner of the vehicle and the point of impact.....
