Re: Save money on razors
Badass.
I've always wanted to get a shave from a guy who knew his way around that sort of tool. I want the works: old-style barber chair, lather, brush, zip-zop-zip-zop on leather and a hot towel wrap.
Then I'd hop on my pennyfarthing and do a lap around the park while the ladies peeked from beneath their parasols and admired my prowess.
My grandfather gave me a shaving brush. He used a lather that came in a tube (like toothpaste), and that worked great. I can't remember the brand. I don't know how it works, but the brush really does make a difference - even if you use a multi-blade disposable cartridge. I've had beard and moustache for years now, but I still shave neck and cheek.
Cheers,

Re: Save money on razors
I get a straight razor shave about once a year. Not far from here ( maybe 4 Fantastic Sams/ Great Clips down the road) there is an old-timey barber shop. Pair of old guys, barber pole, and Playboys to read while you wait. Pretty much the same thing as the one in Coming To America, excpt it's old white guys arguing about baseball/football. Freaking awesome.
Best........Shave........Ever. Like a baby's ass. Nerve racking though......You really notice how an old guys hands shake when he has a razor on your Jugular.

Re: Save money on razors
There was a place like that down the street from my apartment in college. Decided one time to get a cut and shave there. As Dex said, it was the best shave I have ever had but you get very observant on where that blade is and how steady the barber's hands are.
