    interesting server stats

so I'm sitting here thinking.....what's next. What's the next game to wear a TTP tatoo? What's the next game to get some TTP underpants?

and then I'm sitting there at gamemonitor.com....looking at the games it keeps track of.....and I'm wondering......how's the server health of the games we've got, and other games out there? Are there more and more DoD servers every day? Is BF2 gaining popularity? Are there too many servers, and not enough players for games?

    and gamemonitor tells me.....

that CS:S is doing just fine. over 17,000 servers, holding steady, and perhaps even increasing.

DoD:S is not doing as well. 1600 servers at the beginning of the month....but steadily losing servers, and players. Currently, only 1400 total DoD:S servers.

BF1942 is still holding on. Though there's only ~750 servers running, the numbers are holding steady, and perhaps going up a bit.

BF2 only has about 6300 servers, and is pretty flat for the month. But, out of most of the games you can check....BF2 has one of the highest amounts of used slots (total players playing/number of slots available) at around 15%, meaning that the server population isn't saturated with empty servers......at least not as much as DoD:S (which is probably at or around 10% full), and similar, if not even worse for CS:S.

I think America's Army has the highest % of server use.

where the red = total slots available, and the green = total number of players playing

have you played it recently? I hit up on some hospital the other day with sjt, playing the latest 2.5 version.....

without voice, it's just a worthless game to play. People running around, no one helping. And the ones that do can't help as well as they could if we had voice.

I used to be really great with using the voice commands, up, down, west, cover me, sniper, etc......but...... no. I gotta put my foot down. Without voice, any game from now on is inferior, and I refuse to play it.

but damn it's fun being the VIP in the hospital, running out into the garage at the round start, and blasting fools sprinting in with their guns down. Damn it's fun.

    interesting server stats

I am interested in a modern warfare type game with capture points. I don't know what all is out there along this line but I don't think AA is the answer because of the limited com. Maybe BF2, I hope to have upgraded computer parts this weekend so I can try it out.

oh, BF2 is your game then, sonny. Joint strike fighters, super cobras, BMP's, strikers, m16's 203's, m21's, g36's, T80's, M1A1's, .......goes on and on.

Game was bugged as hell when it first started, and I stopped playing it. Now, with plenty of patches, and ISP's that have figured out what a decent BF2 server needs to run.......things should be better.

for us to have a BF2 ranked, 32 man capable server......we're going to have to double our donations.

and that's not difficult. Hell, if every admin donated just $5 a month, we'd be set. Maybe even less than that.

and for those that have donated in the past, let this be your reminder to please donate again.

and let this also be a suggestion.....avoid forgetting to donate by using the "monthly" boxes, instead of the single donation. You can cancel it if you change your mind at any time, so it's just as safe as using the single donation box. But, this way the high admins can get a feeel for what kind of budget we're looking at, since we know how much money we can count on, and how much money we still need to beg for......I mean.....encourage donations for.
