How to be an honorary Texan
To be an honorary Texan you must qualify by having at least FIVE of the following.
1) have more guns than children
2) have more guns than the number of years you have been married (min:6)
3) be a member of your state militia
4) be a card carrying NRA member
5) have voted for W in 04 and be disappointed you can't in 08
6) know what city the Alamo is in and make one pilgrimage there in your life.
7) be a fan of TWO of the following (the cowboys, the spurs, the mavs, the stars, the Astros or (the oilers...old school Houston style).
8) visit Mexico across the Texas border once, and bring back something, anything that you did not declare...ie liquor, paraphernalia, prescription drugs, small rodents)
9) have been hunting on one of the following rivers... the Brazos, the red or the Rio
10) been to ALL THREE of the six flags in Texas. (you may substitute Sea world for one of the six flags parks.)
11) Seen a tornado in a field and watched it while eating dinner... any where in US (automatic entry to honorary Texans)...edited, my wife has done this, she is from the panhandle and tornado are a yearly occurance.
12) Went to one of the following schools... UT, Tech, or TX A&M
13) If you have milked a cow and drank it warm
14) If you have ever rode a bull, or a bareback bronco
15) If you have ever made your own beef jerky
16) If you already knew Texas can still succede from the union, according to the state constitution.
17) If you have visited (El Paso, Houston, San Antonio, Dallas, Austin AND Amarillo) you must have a spoon to prove it( a shot glass is better).
If you meet FIVE of these requirements you can be an Honorary Texan
Also if you have further possiblilites please let us know, we don;t want to be TOO selective, Texas is a big state...
