(Note: This isn't to argue or dispute anything, it is a curiosity driven by one, but not doing this to use it anywhere, just curious)
If you don't know what the note is about, don't worry. The reason for posting this poll is I'm curious how many people actually pay attention to the Recent posts block or the new posts link up in the left. Also interested to see if there is a difference in time being a member of the forum. I've always assumed that people, especially newer to a forum, tend to not really care and go to whatever forum(s) they are interested in. Only in boredom do people actually look at that stuff for things to read when nothing is new in their forum(s).
But, obviously its an assumption and the discussion some may or may not know about as gotten me interested enough in it to want to see if it is true, or I'm just making an ass out of myself (I would of used you and me, but I'm not making an ass out of you by assuming, so it doesn't work damnit!).
So vote away, don't need to post because I don't really care who voted, just numbers =P, plus it will keep from filling OTS with a bunch of "voted" comments. Though if you want to criticize the method, etc. That is good, don't do many polls on here and other forums so advise is always helpful.

If your hypothesis is correct then you will get invalid data because nobody that doesn't use recent posts or read OTS will ever see this. So either way the data is bad because those people will never vote.

I've always used both functions. Then again I frequent many forums...I would wager that a more accurate guess would be people that frequent several forums are more apt to use the latest posts function, because they are more familiar with forums than somebody who just posts here.

Voted (sneaky method to get this to show up in the recent posts block though)

Anymore, I just click between "new posts" and "Forums"
This gives me a good view at how, and where, and by whom(?) of whats going on on TPG, as far as I can see (read Permissions.)
As a Very Frequent poster I find value in the "recent Posts" It lets me know whats hot. Which is usually NPR&OHD, unfortunately.
But a while ago it was, BF3, and sometimes I miss that, even with the Sour taste of that game.
Recently I've been viewing Other Forums, And I usually Head straight to the Section I'm interested in, and that is it.
I use thier "New Posts" buttons, but Only when I want to consolidate Tabs.
Basically I Like the "New Posts", More so than the "Recent Posts" But...That might change with the New NPR&OHD group. (I may Opt out to give that a whirl). I would Definitely agree that boredom is a factor.
