There's nothing wrong with the older muscle cars. They are beautiful. Perhaps because they were not designed in a wind tunnel. And the good ones have a great personality. I can certainly understand why you might choose one for the sound, the fury and the vibe. But they are not a good choice for a performance car. In stock trim (just talking stock here, anything can be modded to be good at a particular task) there is no American muscle car built before 1990 that I can think of that could touch my Japanese turbo four in stock trim on a quarter mile drag. And a road course would just be a laughable.

yeah and drag racing is retarded. Takes 10x more skill to actually race on a race track than just a straight line.
