2013 Hunting Season
Anyone have luck dove hunting? I'm not going this year. Deer season starts 11 days from now. Any trail cam pics? I have not checked mine yet. Not sure if my food plots are doing anything. It's rained 1 time since I planted them.
I went to the local co-op and bought the stuff to make my own mineral licks 2 years ago. Last year I seen a track or 2 in them. This year they have really been pounding it. The hole I made and poured it in is twice what I made it. I was curious if deer would still use my hunting grounds cuz the neighbor on one side had logging done. Normally it take 3 or 4 years before enough cover rebounds.Son calls Dad a fag.
Dad says dude I bust a nut in yo mother 4 times a week

Re: 2013 Hunting Season
Dove season was a mess for me. Partially because Mississippi decided to open their season at 2PM on a Sunday. We should have waited until Monday morning but didnt and it screwed up what is normally the best hunt. Last season we shot 600 dove off the same field. This year it was only 200 and it appeared we had about the same numbers on the field prior to the hunt.
I dont want to talk about it anymore. lol

Re: 2013 Hunting Season
Good luck!!! Watch the kid skunk you. Damn rookies.
Deer season (rifle) is just around the corner (Nov. 9), and I am already pulling my gear out. I bought a new rifle last weekend at a DNR auction. Got a MINT Browning BLR Model 81 (.308) with a Leupold VXIII 1.5-5 x 20 scope (awesome for the thick woods I hunt in). It also has the irons useable under the scope (peep thru) like my old trusty 30.30. The brown will go down.

Re: 2013 Hunting Season
Thank you. I ran the serial number, and it was built in '84......and there isn't a scratch on it. Thank you poacher. Gotta love buying confiscated guns.
I also have a real-deal Made in Belgium Browning 22 Auto (my Dad made the most incredible Teak case for it....will post pic tomorrow). That thing is soooo accurate and easy to shoot, it will make a fan of anyone.~BigTymer~ liked this post

Re: 2013 Hunting Season
I think it is better that it is an older gun. The post 1990 guns were made in Japan. Still good but not as good as the older stuff. I only own one browning now. It is a 12ga BPS grade I stalker. So it has the synthetic stock and forearm but also has the engraving on both sides of the receiver.
I previously owned a Browning A-Bolt 7mm Mag. It had a leupold VII 3-9X50. I killed over 100 deer with it from 1992 - 1997
