12-06-13, 02:06 PM #1Quick Question about picking up a purchase early.
I ordered my new CPU cooler through Amazon and chose the 5-8 business day free shipping because I'm not concerned about getting it quickly. However, it arrived here in Colorado in 3 days, and today they shipped it from Denver to Aurora, near where I live. Where it is right now is probably just MINUTES from me, so I was wondering: if I showed up at wherever it is, would they allow me to pick up the order? It's not due to get to me until Tuesday of next week.
They didn't give me an address of where it's at, and all I know is it's being done through FedEx Smartpost (never heard of it before). I can understand if they need to process it, but what's stopping me from walking in on Monday and just picking it up? Maybe no one really knows the answer to this, but I figured I would ask."In matters of style, swim with the currents... in matters of principle, stand like a rock."

you can, if they have it at a ship point, give them a call and they will probably hold it.
Smartpost I *think* is the one where it ships fedex til it's local and they they ship it to the USPS where you would pick it up or have it delivered.

Looks like the USPS doesn't know where it is, but they've been notified they're getting it. They probably don't have enough time to process it today, even though it got there before Noon. So, I guess I'll wait for Monday, see where it is, then just pick it up early.
