Re: The Internet uses phrases like...
Is it me, or are you kinda grumpy lately?
Disaffected? Malcontented? Misanthropicated?
It's colloquial English. In this instance I have no idea if it's being used in a clever, self-aware manner; or if it's one idiot mimicking another idiot who copied from a third idiot who squished out a new cliche with an overused template.
There's no way to have the knows.
I love language. I hate when it's mistreated out of ignorance, and I love when it's mistreated for conscious effect - and I know that I'll never know which is the when with wonhundred percent whaccuracy.
You're right about teen pregnancy though. I'm pretty sure it was in 2004 that adolescents learned that fucking was fun.
I'm not arguing that there aren't stupid kids, or even that there aren't lots of them. But I have no reason to think that there are more than usual.
Anyway, if there's too much 16-year-old YOLO around then that's the adults' problem. Kids are kids. If you're worried about it then put down the mouse and go be a roll model.
Cheers (seriously),

I agree 100% with you aelove - if it's tongue in cheek that's fine, but I've seen it used too often as if it's an actual way of talking. That photo is full of feels. The feels in this thread is amazing. That's the kind of language that grinds on me! You can Yolo all you like, as long as you don't think it's OK to put in a resume.
