I wouldn't mind recommendations for good wine for drinking. My experiences have always been: "That tastes nice....OMG SOMEONE SHOVED BARK INTO MY MOUTH!"
enf-Jesus its been like 12 minutes and you're already worried about stats?! :-P
Bigdog-Sweet home Alabama you are an idiot.

Wine is one of those things... depending on your likes/dislikes there are different wines to suit your taste. We went to several wine tastings at wineries in Fredericksburg and were able to figure out what we liked and didn't like. That barky taste is the tannin in the wine. I'm guessing you had a red wine of some sort. There are some reds where the tannin is more pronounced than others. White wines typically don't have any tannin, so they don't have that characteristic.
