Because people are idiots (not them, the people attending). People are thirsty at a lot of big events. They are willing to pay more for the convenience of having easy access to beverages to quench that thirst. The people attending think, "Man, I'm thirsty. An alcoholic beverage will satiate my thirst." When, in reality, that will dehydrate them, making them even more thirsty, and sending them back on a cyclic cycle to buy more of the alcohol that is overpriced along with everything else. At an event like that, if you want your money's worth, get something that will hydrate you for the sake of not just your wallet but so you don't get fucking heat exhaustion.

I haven't been to Riverfest in like 3 or 4 years. Then again it always seems that weekend is my weekend to work, and I usually spend it transporting patients out of there.. -_-
