Mainstream use of joysticks for games like BF4 have a life span of about 4 months so don't spend alot of money. I have tried several joysticks through the years and in the end its just better to use kb and mouse. All the best pilots use kb and mouse bc its for more responsive than any joystick

I've read amazing things about Saitek AV8R Pacific, I've heard its a solid stick (around $130). I was looking at options for when star citizen arrives... Although I plan to try M/K first...

This is more for Star Citizen not so much BF. I personally am total shit at flying jets with mouse/kb I'm BF. Why do you say they have a life of 4mo? My current joystick has lasted 7 years.

Thanks Max. M/K so far in the alpha has been extremely difficult to control the ship with. Now that there is custom control binding I'm exploring different option for flight controls but the joystick for me is still the best option thus far even with an old and dying Attack 3.

Although the general consensus among the alpha testers is that M/K is over powered because of the articulated guns allowing players to fire off of center. I personally can't do it with M/K. I believe they said that they're going to nerf the M/K a little to balance game play.

I have yet to actually sit and play, each time I install the update, either battlefield or day z calls me and says "it is time..."...

    Re: Joystick Suggestions

I use a dual flight stick setup for both star citizen and elite dangerous.

The right stick is a Thrustmaster Warthog. My left stick is a Thrustmaster T16000m (in lefty configuration).

I love the Warthog, and wish it came in a left version...... but regardless of that they work well together.

I have throttle mapped to the slider on the T16000m and one of the buttons to reverse the throttle direction, so the slider can be used for reverse as well.

Then all other 5 axis's are mapped to the two joysticks. The T16000m has twist, the warthog does not.
