In the service?
Alaska is on my bucket list. Looks insanely beautiful.
I also know that Hub and Aggie spent enough time in the Northern climates to learn to skate and play some hockey (the ONLY true sport). For the most part, though, most Southern folks tend to not enjoy our Winters too much. The biggest mistake they make is locking themselves inside for the season instead of finding ways to enjoy it. They end-up looking like Jack Nicholson in The Shining after a few weeks of going stir-crazy. The trick is to get out and enjoy the things that can only be done in the Winter.

Yeah Army, I was lucky my roomie was born and raised there. My first assignment was to spend two weeks in a ten man tent on a ridge guarding a pass entering into our gunship firing range -40 to 60 with the added benefit of ice fog. My bud and I were on one side a couple others on the opposite side of the pass. when the fog rolled in we would strap on our cross country's and ski back and forth to keep from getting bored cause the birds couldn't fly in the fog witch was also how we received our one hot meal per day
. As for beauty absolutely I very nearly stayed after my ets. Never got into the skating but skied every chance I had that's where all the women were. Did try swimming one summer about 90 degrees WRONG! that fucking water is a cold mutha.

Re: Lawyer?
It is the only place that I've ever been where I stepped out of the car and the sun was LITERALLY stinging the skin. It HURT to walk across the street to the hotel.
It didn't help that the hotel I was staying at had their air conditioner in my room half broken. It was spitting out some cool air but it was across the room from the bed. I finally said fuck it and pulled the mattress off the bed and put it right in front of the air conditioner.
Except for seeing a road runner... and the fantastic mexican food I got before heading home... I really really didn't like texas.
Krakkens and shit. stop tempting them. -- Bigdog
