Basically a 1 vs 1 game on Versus is amazingly unfair. 1 Human Survivor + 3 Bot Survivors against 1 Infected player, who, although can spawn every 5 seconds or so, can't win against a team of 4 players. Only one can be pinned/attacked at a time.
IMO, bots should not be in Versus mode at all ever.

It's really not fair if there's only 1-2 SI.
3's okay at a stretch I suppose.
But lower respawn times mean jack when you're attacking 1-2 at a time, because you're always gonna get owned pretty much instantly.
I always make sure to so a Survivor first, just because there's a fair number of guys out there who like to start games when there's only 1-2 Infected in the game.

Personally, I consider this issue to be the biggest problem with the game. Anyone who has played vs more than twice knows how much of a difference having less than 4 players on the SI team has on the outcome. It's not the number of attacks that matters, but the combinations. The only way 2 infected could beat 4 survivors is if the survivors split up, which the majority of players are not going to do (assuming average skill levels). Reducing the timer as a balancing measure is just assinine. For instance, how many runs on the final hospital stage have been ended at the top of the ladder because of 4 infected coordination. That would be impossible with 3 infected or less (this is just 1 example, don't try to argue this one specific situation).
The other thing that bugs me is that this is such an easy fix. The spawning system is already in the game, just enable the damn thing. Seriously, I can't understand why this issue hasn't been dealt with yet.

This is an interesting issue if you examine it from all sides. The bots are indeed nearly perfect players, they play with the skill that you wish your teammates had, and yet are sometimes entirely stupid. Bots will oftentimes separate from your group in areas like NM5 and go far off to be pounced on and attacked. They also suffer from things like not being able to tactically place gas cans or get into formation in the way a player can. Yet they will regularly shoot through twenty miles of forest and kill you with three pistol shots in Blood Harvest. They nearly balance out in value if say one team has four and the other two or so. But in games like 1v1 and 2v2 you really can't win, even if you know all the moves and steps and attack as constantly as you can you probably won't make more then a dent. They either need to tone the bots down, or give some sort of bonus to infected than just shorter respawns. I'd propose giving boosts to damage based upon the difference in players or giving some bot infected to play with you.
