you see i think people are really stupid for claiming that this game needs any new additions other than new maps and gametypes. All new weapons would do is detract from the original experience of:get to safety with friends. You see, there would be arguements between who uses the rocket launcher/grenade launcher. And another thing: I really feel like I dont need to bring up the "realism" aspect of a zombie game, but come on! Who would own a rocket launcher in the east coast US? Believe it or not, the weapons, besides the turret and pipebomb, are quite realistic, and i would expect to see them in an American city, although not to such a common extent. But this common notion of "Games are no good without rocket lawn-chairs and melee weapons" is completely idiotic and immature. I would expect that the people bringing up these arguments are the douches that TK when versus matches dont go thier way. Plus valve balanced the crap out of special infected. Each has a specific purpose and i dont see why we need any new ones. Call me conservative, but this game didnt get A+ ratings across the board by having rocket launchers and other retarded ideas like it

I agree with most of what Chuckg had to say. The only way new "weapons" could add to the game is if they werent actually weapons, but just addons for your old ones. Something like laser aim or something could be nice but not game breaking. Even if there were more choices for secondary weapons (pistols) such as a magnum that has 6 shots, takes for ever to load but does heaps of damage and is accurate or an automatic pistol that has less ammo than the uzi but shoots just as fast. Keep in mind these are examples to explain my point and not actual suggestions.

Survival mode will occupy my time for maybe 5 minutes. It looks like it will just be a glorified horde mode. At least with dead air and death toll on versus, we know we won't be dissapointed.
Dang it. I was hoping I would get some gamerscore.
Anyways, I don't see why valve couldn't implement a ton of in-game achievements so that players could work up for something while they are playing. Or perhaps a few status bars that show how long you have played the game total or how many zombies you have killed. I am ITCHING to know how much damage I have done to the survivors.
That said, Dead air and death toll alone should give me enough content to not care about achievments. (I currently have 1000g)

i dont see why valve should have to implement something for you to work for. The game is about entertaining, not about getting achievements. Your priority should be having fun, not getting more gamerscore. And yes it is a glorified horde mode, but its quite a change in L4D because except for the finales, and crescendo events, you should be runnin'-and-gunnin' through the campaigns, so for people who want to sit tight and see how long they and thier buddies can last against a horde of infected. Think, its like nazi zombies, without the suck. Remember how much fun that was? Neither do I.
