I mean, don't get me wrong somehow developers will find a way for a sequel but can there be one that can associate it's name and gameplay with it.

how would the box cover go? 4 Finger and another 2 on another hand?

Also new people in the game, is a no no.. I mean if we was to have a sequel what could the 4 survivors do again?

All in all, do you reckon LEFT 4 DEAD is a sequel waiting to happen, or shall it be the one hit wonder game we all love that gets DLC put on?

Knowing the way Valve works, there will not be a sequel for a very long time. They will probably do what they did with every other game they released so far. Whenever they release Half-Life 3\4 (whatever you want to call it), and develop a new engine for it, they're going to update their other games just like in the past when CS went into CS:Source and Team Fortress into TF2. We'll probably see Left 4 Dead upgraded into the new engine.

I think with the DLC people are going to make a sequel for all the campaigns. (for NM, the helicopter pilot was infected, in DA the plane crashed because of all the panic on the pilot, and some malfunction with the plane(?), in DT the wave came pushing in, and they all got washed ashore, in BH the base got overrun by the infected or something.) just my imagination, though.
