Hey everyone i'm trying to record my own voices for the survivors actions like for ex: Bill saying," Pills here!" I'd replace with " Viagra here!" or ," My geritol is here"

i've copied the original files to a diff folder to keep safe and made a new recording naming it the same exact spelling and everything and nothing happens.. when bill goes for the pills he says nothing and upon switching the original back he says it completely low almost muted level
Please help me this would totally make this game sooo hilarious

I think the game is pretty picky about the attributes of the sound files. Here is what a standard L4D wave file has:

Take a look at your file that you recorded and see if it matches the bit rate and all that. it may be that the game recognizes that the file you created is not a valid L4D file.

As already mentioned, for all players to hear your modified voices, each of them will have to have that file too.
