Honestly... some people just refuse to believe or listen to anything that contradicts them, regardless of how obstinate or self-absorbed they may be. Like CivilWars said, I'd just leave it alone - otherwise, you're just going to be banging your head against a wall for a while.

Asian,
It does appear that you are fighting a losing battle...but hey we all get that around here all the time...do we throw in the towel, quit capping flags or following orders? I think not! Lets see what kind of bullets we can load your gun with:
First, thank Civil for the first tidbit on US oil consumption and sources:

Keep fighting, hell you might even learn something.

This sounds like a high school level teacher. Want to play ugly? Report her to the administration or school board. Teaching out of area of expertise and not germane to the curriculum. Actually, it would have more weight coming from your 'shocked, appalled and offended' parents who are naturally quite concerned with the quality of education their child is receiving and how it is not a Spanish teacher's responsibility to mold their son into a model citizen.
She MAY be able to relate the Spain tangent in given that its a Spanish class and could be covered under culture, but the politics of the rest of the world is kind of out of scope for a Spanish class. Her political/cultural beliefs are not relevant to teaching you to speak/write Spanish.
I'm not going to go searching for them, but there have been several newspaper articles covering highschool teachers 'given opportunity to seek employment elsewhere' after turning their classrooms into re-education camps.
Of course, if it backfires, you may have a hard time passing that class.

Well, if you can't beat them, join them. Tell her she is right, america has a history of interfering in places where we are not wanted and they are civil wars and bla bla bla bla whatever. Then tell her it doesn't matter because in the end, we are in it for the good of our own nation. And anyone who says different is an idiot. And we do what is in our best interest, the rest of the world might have to suffer. Sucks to be them. See if her jaw drops. It would be epic.

Dude, in high school I got great grades for the most part and I love debates, especially on contemporary economic issues or just issues in general the world is facing. But, I was a little more interested in getting some ass then arguing with my teachers. Anyways, I'll provide some opinions or numbers for you when I get home. G/L..
