Kelderos?
Well he's still alive for those that are wondering... I got a call from him the other day. Currently he's stationed in San Antonio. Seems he didn't think it was as easy as he though it would be, but hes managing. For the first few weeks he said he got yelled at alot, some for not folding his clothes any neater
Which I thought was kinda funny. Well anyway, he said he'll be back by Christmas hopefully.
Much respect to Keld~
Anyone else been through basic training?

Re: Kelderos?
Yeah, I have done it in Norway.
The folding of the clothes is a bitch. I used to take the minimum requiered amount of clothes and put it in my locker all neat. The rest I kept in my spare laundry bag so I wouldn't have to spend so much time folding.
As for the yelling. Well, that will happen no matter what you do... But keeping your mouth shut, and doing as you're told, no questions asked made it easier for me at least. When I got into the K9 unit it was a different story. I had been training dogs for almost ten years prior to being drafted, and some of their practices were just plain wrong and out of date. I couldn't keep my mouth shut, and they did not want to hear about it...
I gave Kel some advice before he left, hope some of it was useful. But it can feel like a prison sentence sometimes in basic training (not that I have ever been to prison, but I can imagine), and that can be rough. It was on me. But once basic is over with it gets better. More freedom, less yelling and more work that actually makes sense. At least this was my experience.
Sure hope he makes it through all right. Let him know I said "wazzup?", eh?For when the One Great Scorer comes, to write against your name, he writes not that you won or lost, but how you played the Game
