Houston..to live..or not to live

Well, I will be graduating soon, and I know Houston is big time terroritory for accounting majors. My friend also, just accepted a very very nice job offer there. I know the salaries compared to here in Louisiana are higher in houston, but I don't know much about the cost of living. What are some of the pro's and con's of living in or near houston, and what is generally the cost of living (car, car insurance, home, homeowner's insurance). Hit me with some knowledge.

houston is the bomb ass place..my dad actually works 4 and accounting firm, but aint no accountant. one big CON about houston....TRAFFIC. u think u've seen traffic hahahahahaha basically add on an hour to ur time when ever u leave to go somewhere. but all in all i fuckin love houston, great atmosphere, and plus if u live in houston u get to rep the 713, and screwston!! lol idk there is alot of construction going on downtown, but they r really trying make houston a nicer place, it looks good already and they're not even done. last thing is the HOLY MOTHER OF GOD freeway h-town is getting.....something like 24 lanes total...its going to be like rice rocket heaven...i cant wait to go back home to get on that shit!

all in all rock...fucking get ur ass to the 713!!
btw lived there my whole life just moved this year so....

come on down, and we'll give you a tour. you can meet laggy, digital, jasonjinx, syrringe, and all the other houston majors.

The other big TTP town would be Dallas.

But.....as any good houstonian must say when they hear the D-word.....

I do have to say the Houston area is pretty nice, I live in Sugarland but have gone into Houston a couple of times. Pretty nice place indeed.

I live 50 miles south of houston, on the coast. They will never finish road construction....I've been to some cool places in Houston, Sherlocks, the scout bar etc. Hope you don't like routing for the home team, we don't have any winning teams, and no I don't count the "dynamo".

digital lives down the street from me! lol but now i live in the shit ass city of Waco.

bigdog what u said about dallas could not be true-er! anyone and everyone from houston.....would kill someone from dallas in a heartbeat!
i fucking hate dallas....even if u personally dont live there but still rep it...ill fuck u up! lol

Im from New Orleans.....I know the feeling. I mean I figure any job in Louisiana offering 40k a year would transfer into a 50k a year job in houston. Not to mention the housing in houston is most likely 50% cheaper.
