And not in that David Copperfield kinda way. I am literally in shock over this. Is there even that much money in the world? Is the city of New Orleans even worth $3 quadrillion dollars?
Let's hear it.

Re: Are we sue happy in America?
Voted; certainy my fellow citizens in New Orleans need help. But a number that big, especially because it was filed by one person, has to be hoax,a gross miscalculation, or a typo. That much money is absolutely ridiculous.
We cannot put a price on the loss of life, we certainly can help to reconstruct (whether reconstruction is a wise choice is arguable), but the needed cost has to be fractionally smaller than 3,000,000,000,000,000. Someone is having a good laugh about it or is a complete idiot.

If they would make the losing party responsible for at least half of the litigation fee of the winner there would be a lot less frivolous lawsuit. This is a common practice in most every other country and would save tax payers major doe.

I've seen the receiving end of fantasy lawsuits that are similar to this. When the numbers get this big you can almost rest assured that the plaintiff is A) a few cards short of a full deck and B) representing himself.
The legal filings look a lot like that crackhead's notebook that Syrringe posted here:
