I guess the only reason we didn't take a closer look at this aspect of the process before was becuase it's never close like this.

but jesus christ.......800 votes up for grabs to political lobbying, all under the table, all unregulated, all outside of the view of the people.

800 delegate votes.

they ran the numbers last night, assuming obama was to carry a 55/45 sweep of the states, and then doing the same for hillary (a pretty fair assumption). neither got enough delegates to cross the finish line, meaning it is guaranteed to come down to the supers.

man.......it's going to suck to be a democrat in a few weeks.

encouraging though, that obama won all the different categories of voters, especially 65+, women and low-income, and latino. all three of those are the reason that hillary has managed to split states with him. If he can do the same in ohio and texas... it is looking grim for hillary

Well I was in the room were the primary's were going on in my church yesterday. Then the polls closed and I was standing on our tech booth and they were calling in the numbers and of the 1236 people who voted that day in that church 7 let me say that again SEVEN people voted for hillary clinton.

i knew about super delegates, but hadnt given it much thought, considering that generally it doesn't make too much a difference, and also I thought that all the super delegates were from elected positions. i thought they were congressmen and such that had been elected by the people, and therefore it was still basically influenced by the people. but according to

Where is the regulation....the transparency? Where is the voice of the people, if VIPs like madeline and Bill can call 21 year old kids on the phone, slide them some cash (or even THREATEN THEM), to win that 1 super delegate.

they said in his state, his super delegate vote was worth 13,000 regular citizen votes. (or at least that was the run down the preceding piece explained about superdelegates, and I assume the state they did the math on was this kid's.)

Sad, democrats. Just sad. Treachery. And we burn it down.

So I heard that Super Delegates don't really have to be active politicians, i.e. Bill Clinton, Jimmy Carter, influential business men. Anybody know anything about this?

I don't know exactly what the criteria is, but I do know that all former Democrat Presidents are automatically considered super delegates. However, I don't know how one would consider Clinton and Carter as not "active politicians." Both of them do other things, but politics are their core.

I wonder why the list of super delegate members,, is not easily in the public eye? (As to who they are) They seem to be some kind of secret society........

because then their constituents that they are going to disenfranchise can hold them accountable.

Just so's y'all know, they already picked the next President. Voting means absolutely nothing, because they move the caucus lines around by district, county, or parish (for La). They do this so that when the votes are tallied, they already have the numbers they want, regardless of what you voted. They know where the Democrats live, they know where the Republicans live. They send you to vote in a location so that your vote is already, basically, predetermined. Set in stone. Think about it next time you vote. Look around yourself. See if everyone looks about the same as you ( economically, religiously, etc.). You might be surprised to find out that the district you vote in changes before every election! As soon as someone gets elected, they check the ballots alright, and find out how to squeeze even more votes their way next time. That's how these people stay in.,that's why shiz don't change, AND THAT"S WHY WE SHOULD BURN THIS MOTHA DOWN!!
