    All Nightmare Long

Yes, it is named after the song by Metallica. Quite often I named chapters or even whole stories of mine after songs, but I've never taken the musical influence as far as i plan to take it here. I will post youtube videos containing songs, which I would like you to play upon reaching them. simply listen while you read. the only point is to provide theme music, like in a movie. I don't suppose you'll really be missing anything if you opt not to play them. It's entirely up to you. For now, I'm just going to post a fairly short prologue, and see how high interest is. I'm not going to waste my time writing something no one is going to read. Enjoy!

    ALL NIGHTMARE LONG
    Prologue

It happened so fast. In a matter of moments, the world was thrown in disarray and those that still survive with their mentality fully intact are blessed beyond recognition. Musashi was one of these lucky people. Musashi was a half Japanese middle aged man who had boarded up a vacant building he found at the star of the whole mess.

He sat on the dirty tile floor, pressed against the cracked stone wall behind him with a lit cigarette in his lips, the ember being his only source of light save for the small beams of sunlight that penetrated the errors in his handiwork. He brushed off the ash that fell onto his jean pants leg, and dropped the cigarette from his mouth, stomping it out with his boot as he stood and straightened his leather duster. He glanced to the side with his emerald green eyes, and picked up a worn, brown cowboy hat, throwing on top of his unkempt black hair. Following this, he also grabbed a small can from a nearby crate that read "Spaghetti-O's".

"Only one left...guess 'm gonna need to get movin' eventually, huh?" he sighed, and his flipped open a switchblade, and got ready to meticulously open his meal. "huh?" he muttered as he suddenly lost interest in the pasta, and began frantically looking around the darkened room.

The silence was soon broken with a lonely groan of an infected lumbering towards him from another room.

"SHIT!" he yelled in surprise as he instinctively threw the can at the zombie, and staggered backwards.

The can hit the zombie in the had with one of it's edges, and though it momentarily stunned him, he kept coming.

Musashi pulled a six shooter from his pocket and with one hand, he aimed it between the zombies eyes. "You are one ugly damn sonuva bitch, you know that?"" he said as he fired a single lead shot. With a gasping groan, the infected fell backwards, and landed motionless on the floor.

Musashi walked carefully towards the corpse and stared at it for a few moments. It was sickening. The flesh was rotting, and it smelled of feces, bile and perspiration. Eliciting no response to this, Musashi continued on through the door which it had come from, and discovered that the door he boarded up had been broken into. There was a glimmering object on the third stair of a tattered staircase nearby. He slowly walked over and picked it up. It turned out to be a silver Gothic cross pendant on a broken black cord.

"Guess I have some visitors..." Musashi said as he placed another cigarette in his lips and promptly lit it as he slowly headed up the stairs.
