Exactly Cecil. Makes you wonder how many other cures or drugs are out there that could save thousands possibly millions. If it's not profitable you will never see it. Sickness is very profitable. I gaurantee you there are other drugs out there that could help x, y,& z, but it's not marketable. Not like they're in it to save lives. The researchers, maybe, but the manufacturers or developers, fuck no.

Re: Cure for Diabetes on the Way?
The World could be a much better place if Man didn't worry so much about making profits Especially when Corporations have the government on their side. The FDA works to generate profit for Drug Companies. The Federal Reserve works to generate profit for the Banking Industry. And it goes on. People don't give a damn about other people, instead they care about making money.

Re: Cure for Diabetes on the Way?
tell me about it. i use lantus and humulog. both in the "pen needles". i was offered this option by my doctor because there is a lesser amount in the containers in the pens rather than the normal vials. basically, if i were to follow the guidelines for the expiration of the insulin, and toss the vials when they expire, i would be wasting more with normal vials than the pen needles. another thing that i've noticed is that there is less waste. the needle part screws onto the pen, and you dispose of that whole piece in a bio-container. with normal syringes, you tend to break off the tip of the syringe, and toss the main part. now here's the shitty part. my insurance company considers pen needles a "convenience", and doesn't cover that expense. because of this, i paid over $2,400 in insulin alone last year. those doesn't even start to consider the horrible expense of the test strips.
