As for what you wrote, Nuckle, I think you'd have to get into the whole "how much is a life worth?" thing. I understand that the men and women over there are getting shot at and are under stress and that it's understandable that they might do stupid shit like this. These servicemen, however, are representative of our country as a whole, and they need to be fully aware of the fact that their actions not only reflect on themselves and their superiors, but their entire country. Beyond that, they're the fucking Marines, probably the most prestigious branch of our normal armed forces - we're expecting them to be "honorable in life, generous in death" type of guys, and they're fucking throwing puppies off cliffs for kicks?

Understandable that they need to let the stress out some way, but I don't think taking the life of something or someone is a good way of doing so.

if you take away the video, which is horrendous. the fact of the matter is he should have a deep psych eval and get the max sentence for animal cruelty. his buddies also for not stopping him.

the reason this is so bad, is defenses. puppies trust you, this i equate with child molestation. innocence and trust, if that was a full grown dog he would have turned on that fucker and bit him for holding him like that. i am not saying the act was equal, because child molestation is the worst thing a human can do, in my opinion. but it does show the same lack of humanity. it show you have no feelings and that is dangerous.

however, we train our soldiers to have this lack of feelings, to kill people everyday, but generally they have a wall in their heart that allows them to keep certain things from being tainted, like their love of the innocent. when that goes away they are effectively serial killers, just because they kill insurgences and not their fellow soldiers, we hope, they no longer care what they hurt and that defines a serial killer.

this is the same thing that leads to soldiers that rape or kill innocent civilians. i think these things stem from an immaturity that many 18-20 year olds havent had the pleasure to grow, from interaction with the real world. if you dont have a wife and baby at home and a loving family that sends you letters every week, you lose touch and that wall is easily toppled to where you dont care about anything anymore.

nothing, but most of us got over him already. So why are people so outraged by this random Joe? Surely he wasn't a role model that was looked up to by 1000's of people.

What i'm saying is why is this such a outrage? I have a pet, and when I read the title of this article my stomach hurt. Truth is, this is reality and people need to accept the fact that this shit happens quite often just not caught on tape.

I agree that there are more important things we can worry about in our country rather than someone who is bored and instead of kicking rocks and playing thumb war, tosses dogs off a cliff.

How about local news, people die everyday most are disturbing acts too. We don't all lash out about how in-humane they are anymore do we? Shit, most people watch the news while eating dinner '10 year old girl raped and killed' - as the man eats his steak and rice. Lets pay closer attention to murderers, rapists, and terrorists instead of dog killers.
