Poker Players
So figured Id start a thread for the poker players here on TTP. Share your bad beats or the hands youve made a killing on. Ill start off.
Playing 3-6 limit the other night, get rockets on the button, raised it, get four calls. Flop comes A-4-J rainbow. Bet the flop get three calls. Turn comes no help to anyone, 1 bet with 3 calls. River comes another 4. Get this guy in the small blind to bet into me, i raise, he re raises and i rais agian. Flip over the full house and he gets pissed. Next hand he tells me that he thought I had AK, which is what i wanted him to think, thought his trip 4's were good and never figured me for rockets. Small moral victory for me because this guy was making trips and boats left and right on me all night.

Re: Poker Players
Nice!
Was playing 2-5 NL at Harrah's in Lake Tahoe, 10 handed. I'm first to act and I look ed 5s 7s and limped. Someone who had been drinking & losing heavily made a raise of about 4X the blind so I figured him to be on a big hand, AK, KK, AQ, somethin' in there, tryin' to get back some of the money he lost. Flop comes 3 4 6, with the 4 and 6 spades. I play it slow with my made hand and going into the turn we've got 3 people still in the hand. The turn brings my money card, the 3 of spades, and the rest is history. I ended up calling the big guys hand right, he had AK of spades, so he hit his flush on the turn, the 2nd guy hit trip 6's on the flop and made his boat on the turn. I ended up making around $400 in that hand and the casino gave me a $350 bonus for hitting a straight flush. $750 off one hand, not too shabby!

Re: Poker Players
I've played some poker in my time. I use to go down to this card club in Minnesota called Caniberry park and play some Texas hold em. I never really got an awesome hand that I can remember winning big on... But I do recall bluffing my way to victory plenty of times! hahah, all the poor bums that are regs there hated me

Re: Poker Players
I've played online poker, but I've got nothing that exciting to tell since I play in the small tables (50cents/$1 or sometimes $1/$2). I did however witness the largest pot I've ever seen online. It happened in the $200/$400 NL table at Pokerstars. There were only 2 players (each had $40,000), and both limped into the flop which was A 2 8. Then Guy A bets ~$4000. Guy B re-rasies to $24,000. Guy A goes all-in, and Guy B instantly calls. I forgot the turn and river, but they weren't that important. Guy A had pocket 2's and won the $80,000 pot. Guy B had A8 for a two pair. Tough break.
Those 2 guys put in the max you can at that table. I thought the highest pot I'd ever see would involve the all in exploit.

Re: Poker Players
Playing in a cruise-ship no-limit tournament I was the big stack and had 2-6 of hearts and called the flop just to see the cards - I could afford it, what the heck.
The flop was 3D-5H-AH - I had a straight draw but it wasnt lookin good. Guy to my left bets big and the guy after him calls and since I was the big stack, I had equity in just posting the big blind so I called.
Turn comes, no help and the guy to my left goes all in, second guy has him covered and calls and at this point I was getting like, 3-1 on my money so I called. They showed and one had pocket queens with the Ace kicker and the other had something that didnt beat it - turned over my crappy 2-6 and you can guess what happened.
Heart on the river, I sucked out a flush and knocked 2 people out, lol. my buddy who was watching over my shoulder went nuts - I knocked him out 2 hands before on a bluff.

Any way for 2-player simultaneous gameplay? Wife is interested!
Wife shocked me when she saw me playing on pc and asked if she could play with me. I thought, wow, great question. She's never been into games, only remembers arcade-style two player games from the eighties. I have two joysticks that I can connect to my pc, so is there a way to do this? Thanks in advance!

Yes, it is possible to play split screen co-op on Left 4 Dead. I'll show this little guide for that, if you have two Xbox 360 controllers.
First of all:
1. Go to Options - Keyboard Mouse
2. Click on Allow developer console and put ENABLED
Then on the main menu:
1. Open the console by pressing §, ', ´ or either ¨ button (can be hard to find and sometimes doesn't even exist on the keyboard. Then you should go to edit the console toggle button somewhere in the config files...)
2. Type: exec 360controller
3. Type: ss_enable 1
4. Type: ss_splitmode 1/2 (1 is for horizontal view, and 2 is for vertical)
And if you want play with Keyboard + X360 controller, you need to do this:
1. Download 360controller.cfg
2. Replace with the file:
Steam\steamapps\common\left 4 dead\left4dead\cfg
(credits to gmhexen on Youtube)
And to set the name of second player, open the console ingame and write:
name2 [name you want]
Like this: name2 Player2
NOTE: There was a guide for other controllers too, but I got problems to find it anywhere... I'll come back when i find it.
