Re: Help me, school project: Question 2
Voted.....If it is something that isn't normal maintenance I am going to take it somewhere that is going to back up their work which means I am going to pay more money.
I'm not as good as I once was, but I'm as good once as I ever was!

Re: Help me, school project: Question 2
I just got fucked over at an expensive shop and I'll be damned if I take it back there so they can fuck something else up on my vehicle. I now take it to cheap shops. They normally do a good reliable job because they want you to not only come back but also spread word of mouth about them.

Re: Help me, school project: Question 2
Since this question refers to non-routine maintenance, the most likely chance is that I won't know how to do it or the work would be pretty extensive so I would have to take it somewhere. I suppose it wouldn't matter if the shop was an expensive or cheap shop assuming the job they do were the same. One thing that would matter to me would be if they stood behind their work as well as their screw ups. If my engine blows up while driving away (by the way, this really happened to me) will they give me a new engine? If so then there will only be the time issue if they screw up. I chose expensive shop because I see chain businesses as places that A) stand by their work, B) can afford to refund you or fix their screw up, and C) will be more expensive but worth it because there will be a better chance of them working with you rather than against you after they've already worked on your car.
