Here's an interesting tidbit. Bushido as a such a formalized martial art is owing to the relative weakness of Japanese steel. If you glanced your katana off a part of armor, it would likely shatter your sword. Even today, the attacks used in Kendo focus on weaknesses in the samarai armor (head where the faceplate meets the helmet, under the wrist braces, under the helmet and above the gorget, in the kidneys under the breast plate). In combat style kendo, there are additional targets that focus on other weaknesses in the armor, where arteries are located (e.g., groin and inside of knee).
I had a buddy that was getting his PhD in kinesiology (science of human movement). He studied the force of the kendo blows using imaging technology (with the little white ball suit). His conclusions were that the sword strokes developed in the Japanese middle ages cannot be improved upon with even modern technological understanding.
European culture didn't really focus on swordsmanship until armor became useless because of guns, and people therefore started using fencing swords instead of big smashing broadswords.

Stainless Steel Blade
Wouldn't be surprised if it has a rat-tail tang or one similarly weak. The blade would probably pop right out after the first solid contact.

Are you possibly wacked in the head?
Kind of serious topic right here!
So do any of you suffer from any personality disorders ..like certain anxiety issues or depression? ADHD? ect..
My story to start us out..
I actually got diagnosed (from an actual doctor) with OCD back in my senior year of high school. I guess it's one of those things that has to be triggered by something to truly show it's horrible traits. Sucks that it had to happen my senior year, the year that's supposed to be the best ..but it turned out to be the worst year I ever had.
Yeah pretty insane shit. People make fun of it, but ): I'm a psychopath because of it. Not really, but some of the shit it causes. Washing hands after everything I touch. Repeating shit if it doesn't feel right. Causes very bad anxiety. I'm not going into detail, because that's my business, and I hate talking about it fully ..so just research if you're interested.
I told my story. Now you have to. I know I'm not the only crazy in here. I better not be. o_o;

Just a lil disclaimer here, because... well, because this is the internet, and there are lots of idiots out there.
If this ends up in a flamewar or with people getting into discussions over what is and isn't a real mental illness, or any other kind of dick-measuring contest, I will be handing out bans. No warning, no infractions, you'll be getting your ass hoofed out of the forums for a week.
To the best of my knowledge, no-one here is a qualified psychiatrist, so therefore no-one is in a position to comment on other people's issues. Let's remember that and keep the debate constructive please. :cc:

I was born with something called Asperger Syndrome.
Asperger syndrome - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
When I was a toddler, it was really apparent that I had it because I was slow to talk and not socially interactive, I was also struggling a bit with classes. So I was often placed in extra help sessions and other programs as I was growing up. I think I'm fine now so they certainly have paid off.Parlock: I'm sorry, I'm an idiot who can't read XD.Teenracer6: I hate salt, it's too salty.Parlock: Taking in TP's sweet, sweet buttsweat didn't make me gag
