Do you see love as a chemical or spiritual affect?
Ok, either way you look at it, its an Emotional affect. But do you think its a Spiritual or Chemical attraction. Science suggest that it is pheromones that attracts you to someone. And then there are people who think that every one has a soul mate.
I think its a chemical affect my self.

Cecil,
What do you mean by love? I think I love bigdog but I've never smelled his glands. Should I have another beer? Kiss him? Ask him to marry me? Set him free and see if he comes back? How can we recognize love?
I love elkhartadam. I know because I welled up when I played medic and he died in my arms.

Re: Do you see love as a chemical or spiritual affect?
Chemical.
There was an interesting set of studies done where women had to rate the "sexiness" of a mans smell. They did this by having a SRS group of men wear the same tshirt to bed each night for several nights. Then they had a SRS of women smell the tshirts (without knowing whose they were of course, or even who else was in the test!) and rate their "sexiness."
Without fail each woman selected men who had the most divergent immune systems from their own as sexiest and those with the most similar immune systems as least sexy. Presumeably (which is not scientific, but...) because their potential offspring would have a more diverse immune system, and thus greater survivability.
We are walking bags of meat driven by electro-chemical information...bad ass!

Re: Do you see love as a chemical or spiritual affect?
You should have named this thread, Do you see (Attraction) as a chemical or spiritual affect? Love and finding someone attractive are two separate things.
I could say I love someone and mean it. While the person is both physically and psychologically attractive, their is definitely a connection to the person that science cannot explain.
I could say I love someone and be mistaking myself. When in fact, it is the physical part of them that I desire, or lust for. I have met women who are really hot but, absolute maniacs when it comes to they're personality. Does that mean I love them? No it means I'm attracted to them.
Example: "That stripper is fucking Hot! God I love her!" (Indeed the stripper is hot but, I do not love her for anything but her body.)
So to answer your question, I think it is a little of both worlds that causes attraction. One on a physical level(chemicals) and the other on a psychological level(spiritual)
