Almost arrested for nothing!

He didn't believe us so he called in back up and another cop a younger guy comes down into the woods and he had played airsoft before so he understood what we were doing and explained it to the otehr cop. Then I shot my firend with the gun just to prove it wasn't real. Soooooo they go up talks to my friends parents after takeing the zip tie shit off and apologize.

Turns out the girls had just moved in a few streets over and ran home to there mom and there mom called the cops. Was a fun experience.

pretty much the same thing happened to me...

Me and my cousin go airsofting in the park, out in the soccer field and near tall grass, where nobody was. We dressed to cover our faces, (so we wouldn't get severly injured) wearing hoods, tukes and ski goggles...now you have two tanned teenagers wearing hoods and masks with AK-47 replica airsoft rifles right beside a park full of parents and little kids. So after 5 minutes of fun, we have 4 cop cars pulled up across the soccer field, fucking up the grass and everything

took us about half an hour to convince them not to talk to our parents

You're lucky you weren't in Pasadena, Texas. Someone would have probably shot you in the back. You can't screw around with Airsoft rifles on public property. Even with the blaze orange flash-hider, they look way too realistic -- someone tells you to put the gun down and you turn around to look at them, like as not they're going to take a shot at you. You should only use them in secluded private property and when you transport them, you should keep them out of sight and clearly marked as toy guns. Shenanigans like this are a good reason that Airsoft won't catch on in the US.

Also, ski goggles? WTF! The paintball masks or real shooting goggles are the way to go. Ski goggles are simply not meant for that purpose and we're not that good at replacing eyeballs.

Something you may want to keep in mind. Cops don't just ride around and suddenly go "Hey, lets go to the Taco Bell / 7-11 and see who we can pick on"...
Cops are at the discretion of Dispatch and General public. If someone calls in and says hey... I think someone just tried to rob the 7-11... or Hey we just saw a guy running from the Taco Bell and the Taco Bell is closed... then Dispatch will simply pass that information along. The Police HAVE to respond with Aggressive Violence of Action, it's the only way to get to an end of the shift and go home to your family.

Now, are their cops out there who have their thumbs up their ass and can't use common sense to sniff the truth out of a story / person within a few moments of talking to them? Sure there are... and they are the ones who think they already know the story without getting accurate data. If you think a Cop acted out of line, send a letter of complaint to the department. There are folks out their whose only job is to pull the tapes from cars and reveiw the officers behavior in the field.

Wow, Hub and I have like the exact same views on this subject, he's said everything that I would have haha. Right now, as I'm nearing graduation, I gotta start considering what I'm gonna do, don't know if I want to apply for a federal position or do a local thing.
