I never got around to doing those. I did know someone who could do a 4x4 in a bout a minute, and he knew someone who would put crisco all over it so he could finish it in under 30 seconds.
enf-Jesus its been like 12 minutes and you're already worried about stats?! :-P

I never solved one.
People doing them blind-folded proves that its a mathematical formula, right? I mean - the right combination of turns and flips will result in a solution?
or did he study the cube first to remember the starting location of the colors?
one thing I remember is that the middle square on any given side tells you what color that side is supposed to be, because the center squares never move.
Right?

Got bored at school, timed myself.
3x3: 1min 5sec
4x4: 7min 45sec(or so)
