    Re: Rubik's cube

My best ever was 37 seconds... but that was the result of a really lucky case.

Back when I was in practice, I could do one in a minute, plus or minus.

5x5x5's are good for the soul.

I never got around to doing those. I did know someone who could do a 4x4 in a bout a minute, and he knew someone who would put crisco all over it so he could finish it in under 30 seconds.
enf-Jesus its been like 12 minutes and you're already worried about stats?! :-P

well i dont know what type it is, it has 9 blocks on each side but, she could solve it in abou 1 min.
Me: "But the Gunslinger is so much more fun..."
Langrad: "We're here to win, not to..."

    That's a 3X3(technicallyx3 since it's a cube).

    Re: Rubik's cube

    I never solved one.

People doing them blind-folded proves that its a mathematical formula, right? I mean - the right combination of turns and flips will result in a solution?

or did he study the cube first to remember the starting location of the colors?

one thing I remember is that the middle square on any given side tells you what color that side is supposed to be, because the center squares never move.

    Right?

You have to study them before-hand. There's no "magical sequence" that will solve a cube.

    Right?
    True for a 3x3 and a 5x5, not for a 4x4.

Got bored at school, timed myself.
    3x3: 1min 5sec
    4x4: 7min 45sec(or so)

http://youtube.com/watch?v=C7glzvu_dCA, evil twin for those who don't know, making one by the end of this week.

capnemo, are 5's really worth it, cause a 4 is fun.

(that's not me in the video)
