Not quite. :P Just looked up the specs for every year the Dodge Neon was made. Biggest gas tank ever was 12.4gal. Even if you drove your previous tank to complete empty, and towed it to the gas station... you wouldn't pay more than $44.

STOP BLAMING THE OIL COMPANIES, STOP BLAMING REPUBLICANS, STOP BLAMING THE WAR, STOP BLAMING THE MIDDLE EAST, STOP BLAMING KATRINA, STOP BLAMING EVERYONE!!! Blame yourself....

    Supply....plus demand...equals what?? Oh yea...thats right....

WE USE TO MUCH FUCKING GAS!!!! Its that simple....USE LESS!!! You will pay less....When we use less, demand goes down, supply goes up....guess what happens then.....PRICE GOES DOWN!!!!

My Suggestions. Buy a Bicycle, buy a motorcycle, get a moped, buy a car that doesnt run on gas, ANYTHING to stop using gas.

Kids Under 18 on here. QUIT STROLLIN THE MALL PARKING LOT LOOKING FOR CHICKS WHILE YOU BUMB YOUR MUSIC. Lets average it out, lets say you stroll around with your buddies on a weekend night, lookin for chicky's. Lets say (for old times sake) you are bumbin in an Oldsmobile Cutless Supreme (minus the sour cream) with 4 friends. After an hour of driving around (about 70 miles total, after you picked up your friends) You finally find some hot chicks to get in your car....ok...now you have to buy them food, and drive another 20 miles....buy the end of the night, just in gas and food for the chicks....averaging 15 miles a gallon, at 3.50 per gallon, plus food (20 bucks), you have spent 40 dollars just to find some pussy. IT AINT WORTH IT.

EVERYONE needs to do thier part to conserve gas and oil. PLAY MORE COUNTERSTRIKE!!! Stop driving places...just sit at home and play Counter-Strike.....Use public transportation if you can, ride a motorcycle. DID YOU KNOW MOST MOTORCYCLES GET 60 MILES A GALLON!!!!! Yea, its true, i have one.....

Use less......thats all you have to do....
So explain to me how gas prices were so low back in the early 90's and onto the beginning of 2000. Like I said, people have to drive places, necessary places and I for one shouldnt have to limit my driving because the oil companies want a 40 billion dollar profit. Bull shit. Kraker you can blame yourself if you want, and throw all that supply and demand bullshit at anybody you want to, people need gasoline. Oil companies are making a fortune off this shit with their high ass prices and you want the consumer to just stop buying gas. Lame ass idea. Again, I am not going to live my life according to THEIR schedule, and stay home instead of drive on a vacation because they want higher ridiculous profits.

But just to level with you, I'll talk your game. The oil companies have come out and said that they have cut their supply on purpose. Now does anyone know what that means? Kraker...? anybody? Oh that's right, with less of a supply, the price goes up because their is less oil to go around. Hmmm, I wonder why they did that? World society is all about money and greed. I'm not asking the companies to take a loss on anything. I'm just asking them to run a fair business and not take advantage of it's customer/consumers every chance it gets.

I also won't sit at home (when I could be driving) because some mother fucking, ass licking, cock sucking, dope doing environmentalist don't want to hurt a few fish, to drill in our own oceans and on our own lands. Same thing goes for cutting down trees...the motherfuckers grow back...I promise... But whatever, you guys sit at home and bitch about how the oil companies are so great and we are so greedy...do it...I'll use the gas that you aren't. See you on the road bitches.

Gas was cheaper in the 90's cuz there was more supply, and less demand. Do you realize that in the 90's, alot less people in the world drove. China, for example, hardly had any drivers back then. Around the turn of the century, the amount of people in china that drove jumped about 25 percent. Now, do the math, 25 percent of 3 billion people started driving....thats alot of god damn people.

Ok, so they cut supply. Who cares?? There is absolutely nothing we can do about it, they are ganna do what they want, and we have to follow. Maybe the supply was cut because we were using TOO much. I mean, oil isnt a renewable resource there stimpy. One day, we will run out of oil, and that time could be approaching.

Now as far as us drilling in our oceans and alaska. I'am all for it. We aint ganna hurt the environment. It's not like if we take oil out of the earth, and harvest the earths resources, that its ganna explode. Drill away, but that will only lower gas prices, mabye 50 cents, and then will be back up again. Thats a bandaid fix, nothing permanent. If we want to have low gas prices and pay less for travel, we need alternate fuel sources. but again, this will not happen on a major scale anytime soon, because of washington and the political power oil has.

Go on vacation, do what you like, I just hope you have a good job, and make enough to do so. People need to get out and spend money, take vacations, it will help the economy.

Oil companies cut supply in the past because prices were so low they were barely scraping by. They aren't now, they are refining all they can. Regardless of what we do, I doubt we will ever run our cars on gas less than $1.50 ever again. We need some other alternative.

yeah, and want to know why this car company will be out of business soon?

    2009 Roadster base price: $109,000*
Wait time to delivery is approximately 15 months*
A $60,000 refundable membership fee is required to secure your position
pathetic business plan to start selling a car with no track record and no history at a price point 4X higher than normal cars.

Hippies are not typically rich people. Sure, the 0-60 at 3.6s is cool.....but no one is ever going to see it given it's pricepoint.

If you say corn ethanol or fuel cells, I'm going to have to hit you. Sugarcane or switchgrass as fuel crops (the latter also making for a good supply of biodiesel) or hydrogen as a combustion source means we can actually talk to each other.

Burning our entire food supply for one of the worst sources for fuel (in terms of net gain) is a horrid idea.
Whatever happened to fusion? I remember hearing about it and reading about it back in the late 90s, right around the turn of the century/millenium, but then it seemingly fell off the face of Earth. Was it just not practical or something?

And what about the current hybrid-type cars that operate on both gas and electricity to increase overall fuel efficiency? Is there a reason - beyond our nation's affinity for affluence and big, loud, gas-guzzling thyroidal monsters - that the tech hasn't started becoming mass-produced?

I seem to remember reading that creating ethanol fuel actually consumed more energy than creating normal gasoline.

The same way our regular cars have Alternators. Your car only uses it's battery when the car is starting the engine and while you listen to the radio with the car off. When you drive, the alternator pretty much charges the battery. So with the electric Aptera, they need to somehow design a way to do the same thing.

While they drive on the electric motor, they need to find a way to charge it while it's running. Maybe use some sort of friction thingy mabobber to generate energy while its going. I don't know.. It would be MUCH more efficient. It would turn that 300+/gal. into well, infinity.

I know they can do this with the hybrids (gas/electric), but what about pure electric... That would be genius.
I think hybrid cars charge their batteries by utilizing power from the brakes. I'd need to find an article on it, but I'd guess they take the energy used from braking and use it to recharge the batteries somehow. I don't know if it actually recharges the batteries or just makes using them more efficient. But I'd assume they could develop a way to harness the kinetic energy and thermal energy present in most engines and use it to charge batteries.

A pure electric car could maybe utilize solar energy, or you'd just plug it into a light socket or something.

A fusion powered vehicle would have to be the size of a tractor-trailer and couldn't haul much more than 2 people.

having a father, mother, uncle, and step father who work for oil companies this is very interesting to read... amercian oil companies mind you.

but i have to say, nuclear power is the way to go.
when i first studied nuclear fusion/fission in school i immeadiately asked the teacher why we arent using that to create electric power... i still dont understand why we dont...
