NY doesn't like the 2nd Amendment

Apparently bringing up the 2nd Admendment in a law suit about guns is irrelevant.

Re: NY doesn't like the 2nd Amendment

    Quote from the article

In a recent court deposition, Mayor Bloomberg said he believed “the Second Amendment of the Bill of Rights gives you the right to keep and bear arms.” But in a recent brief to the Supreme Court, lawyers for Mr. Bloomberg argued that the amendment “was not intended to vest armed power in citizens acting outside of any governmental military effort — either federal or state.”

Actually, that is EXACTLY what the 2nd amendment is all about. It ensures that the people will always have the power to resist a tyrannical government. It ensures that firearms will not belong solely to the government. People often forget that that document was written by real revolutionaries who had thrown off an oppressive monarchy.

I do not think it leaves a lot of room for interpretation.
