i thought this guy was a pretty smart cat up until he said "the Iraqi's owe us". <-----LOL you invade their country, kill their people, steal their oil and then say they owe you? funny guy. and don't even try bringing "we brought democracy" bullshit.

Yeah, that whole "steal their oil" thing is working great for us as we start to edge over the $4/ gallon mark.

I know you just like to get flame wars going Canadian, but seriously, you think we are benefitting from their oil when as I remember (potententially incorrect, lots of stuff in my head) Canada sends us more oil than the middle East? If we were stealing their oil, there would be more in the system and prices wouldn't be near as much as they are.

Simply put, supply and demand. Demand for oil is skyrocketing in places like India and China. At the same time supply from countries like Indonesia, Mexico, Iran and Russia is dwindling as those countries use a greater percentage of their oil domestically.

Demand in the US on the other hand is remaining about the same.

It's really that simple. The forces of a global market economy at work.

Then I'm not starting anything either, I'm just stating my opinion that you're a complete dumbass. An uninformed, ignorant canadian.

Iraq's going to pay reparations, since that's what countries that lose wars are going to do. Good thing for them, they have a ridiculous amount of natural wealth, and a means to pay us for our "services".

Maybe it's fun in canada to sit on your ass and watch the world go by, but here.....we know the world goes by only because it's supervised and monitored by the policemen of the world. US, the UNSC, NATO, and any legit international organization that most likely canada's minimal impact on the world doesn't qualify them for.

I'm all for removing our dependence on foreign oil. I hate the idea of sending money to someone else when we can drill/grow the same thing in our own back yard. I'm not for tapping into the reserve though, the abrams tank gets .6 miles per gallon and until we get our whole military running on bio diesel or some other kind of alternative fuel and can generate a steady supply, I just don't think it would be wise.
