No More Hobos
I didn't know where to put this, since we're in TF2, 2142, and COD4, so I just thought I'd drop it here.
As of now, officially, BFH is closed and dead. The reasons are numerous, but the short of it is that it's my fault. Honestly, I basically was the force holding BFH together, and so when my playtime dropped to virtually nil, and I made some decisions people disagreed with, the ball started rolling and everyone jumped. That's fine, and I don't blame any of them, and wish them the best time with wherever they go. I do, however, feel obligated to give a bit of a history of BFH, as one last tribute to the Hobos.
BFH started as a TTP clan, and that was the plans from the start. Sometime around May 2007, I had the idea to make a clan, talked to AK-99 about it, and then rounded up Spike113, Turtlesexx, and Ironstomach. I also talked to Mury and GI_Jeff, but it didn't work out with them. Soon we picked up DeusInnomen and DragonOEvil, who apparently were real life friends, though that wasn't known until after we had them both under the BFH roof. Next pickup was Redeye, also "that guy who was banned with Mury". After that, recruitment started to pick up, with Rob, Alael, Arreo, Redmako, Squeaker, Cebelius, Kilo, Quicklighting and a number of others coming in a short time. That was truly the golden age of BFH, where we were THE force on the 2142 server, had 5-6 people on there at any time, and pretty much kicked ass. As time moved on, people did too; Redeye and Alael went on to create 5th Column, Cebelius and Kilo went on to make Victrix, Arreo moved on to other games, etc. Since that point, BFH has been doing alright, and we've still had good recruits, but our numbers slowly dwindled somewhat.
But it's been one hell of a ride while it lasted. BFH has spawned 2 other clans (5th and VTRX), put 2 highs into office (with some ex-members probably getting there in due time), had innumerable admin positions, and in its time has been a force in 2142, TF2, COD4, CSS:GG and DOD:S. We've also played multiple MMOs, ArmA, and a number of other games.
All the same, in the end, there wasn't much gained. TTP didn't gain much from us being here that they wouldn't have anyways, and won't lose much when we're gone. It was a second family and a close group of good people, but at the same time it was just a tag. Something I built from the ground up (not all alone, of course), and now have watched fall. And when it comes down to it, the problems have been my fault, basically. My fault that Redeye and Cebelius saw how great a clan was and decided to start their own, my fault that people started leaving, my fault that I stopped playing and eventually made a decision that ended the clan. And it has been the whole clan's "fault" when we've had all the fun, the Hobo Raids, and etc. I'm not unhappy about it, but that's how it is. Basically, that's the definition of leadership: taking the blame for failure and sharing the success. But now I'm starting to ramble.
The short of it is, BFH has risen, had its day in the sun, and fallen. All that's left now are a bunch of Nobos with the skills of a Hobo and good teamplayers. Let that be my legacy.
I'm out. I've had my time in the sun, and I've had my fun, but as I said, I am BFH, so with its fall, I will take my leave from the sunny shores of TTP. I'll be around games some, but I'm tired of playing the political game, and running things. I've not agreed with some recent decisions on the leadership's part, so I'm leaving now on good terms instead of fighting back and getting kicked out. I wish TTP and all of you the best, especially any old Hobos.
And hey, we'll always have Paris.

Re: No More Hobos
Sorry it had to go down this way Ben. I hope you reconsider though and stay on the forums, you have helped make TTP what it is. I don't agree with your statement that BFH hasn't brought much to the table. You brought in multiple game admins and kept new faces coming back to the server. I know I always squadded up with turtle and AK in 2142 and BFH and BD guys brought me back to the server day in and day out.
Even though we didn't always agree I still consider you a friend and hope we can still game together from time to time.

Re: No More Hobos
This is truly a sad day for TTP... although I had not gotten the chance to get to know most of you, I did get o know some of you. Like Ironstomach, who I used to see in BF2 quite often, and AK99 who I remember from BF2142 and the forums; both of them outstanding players from my perspective and both great examples of Texasteamplayers type of players.
I wish you well in your endeavors Benandorf!
