    Best Buy, Music, and TTP

Have you guys noticed how important music is to us gamers? We have many threads on it.

Well apparently Best Buy has noticed as well. The store in Rochester Hills, MI has changed its floor plan. Now PC gamers have to walk through the music section to get to the PC games (but not console games!)

Are you guys seeing the same thing at your local Best Buy?

Haven't noticed, then again dont think I've been to one in a while. Don't really like Best Buy all that much. If I do visit one I'll definitely check on that, I'm sure there are all sorts of quarky ways stores are set up for odd reasons like that..

they used to have it set up like that at the store i used to go to in Scottsdale haven't been in awhile though, but last time they moved to be by the return area next to the computers. The current one i go to has it set-up so that its between console games and the pre-made computers.

A side from the addition of their Magnolia Theaters section, if you haven't already noticed, you'll begin seeing them add lines of musical instruments

Roger that. They set up the stores that way to get you to see stuff and impulse buy.

Same reason that supermarkets put tampons across the aisle from bright-colored cereal boxes. Mom needs tampons - mom has kids with her - kids see bright cereal with a prize - BOOM! Cereal sale. The cereals with dull boxes and low sugar are at the top shelf and out of kid sight.

But you've hit enough chicks to know the cereal trick, Toker. Much respect :9

The nearest BB to me switched their floorplan to have all the media up front (DVDs to the left, Music to the right) and all the games got moved waaaaaay to the back corner of the store. :2

Yeah, I think you're on to something.

Our BB has ALWAYS been that way. The most recent addition that I can think of was moving mp3 players up close to the front.

Roger that. Our store was like the one in Scottsdale.

Maybe BestBuy is doing a regional marketing analysis ... rearranging stores by seasons, demographics, etc. and collecting data ... optimizing sales one step at a time by marketing other peoples' efforts. Those fucking bean-counting pricks.

TTP will beat 'em without crashing like Starbucks and that old greasy donut company.

What I have seen though is that Best Buys are doing the Frys thing. Making you stand in one long line instead of multiple short ones. Ofcourse that long line is jam packed with tons of crap like candy and little gizmos which is hard to get through w/o temptation when I'm with the fam....

& LOL at the above post ebacon! Sigged for sure.
