it's not a sheet of green metal...it's special metal made to withstand crashes, hurricanes, tornadoes, etc...with vinyl lettering that is also made to do the same...
then the expensive part comes in...a patented coating that makes it UBER reflective....

Also, the cost is NOT just the sign...it's the mounting, and the cost of installation -- which is largely inflated by union charges and such.

Grow up with parents owning a print shop, and you learn real quick how shit like this is done >_<
