Thread: All Star Game

The All Star game was insanely awesome. I stayed up and watched the entire game yes it was long but the game was slam packed with action and great plays. I say I ! you to all the reporters who say that the game was to long and the MLB needs to put a time limit on the allstar game or an inning limit. Baseball was never made to have a time limit. It has never been played with one so why change something that has worked for all this time. If i knew a reporter who says it needs a time limit because the the teams ran out of pitchers i would respond by saying that they need to use there pitchers pitch more. For example starting pitchers only pitch for one or two innings, and the relief pitchersonly pitch for a couple of outs. Then for the managers saying don't use my pitcher because he just pitched or he has to pitch in two days i say screw you if u don't want your pitcher there then don't let him go its that simple why take up a spot on the roster if your not going to do anything there are plenty of pitchers who would take your spot.

Great all star game.

My complaint: A-Rod leaves in the 6th inning after he's pulled off the field.


IMHO, that's one of the biggest displays of disrespect, non-teamplay in the history of pro-sports.

A-Rod, although in my opinion the greatest player of all time, is someone that I would not want on my team. It looks to me like he's worried about the $, and not about winning. I really hate to see people put it all on the line and hang around years after they should have retired for the hopes of winning a title, and then you've got A-Rod in a perfect situation to win one and he's breaking his team and in some ways the sport apart.

I can somewhat understand players leaving the game early due to injuries, or say there's a minute left on the clock, your team is up by two touchdowns, and your starting QB leaves to go to the locker room, I can understand. But for an all-star game, a game that's supposed to be an honor to play in both by and for the fans/players, for a player to leave in the 6th inning and then go talk to the press right afterwards just lacks tact, to me.

Manny Ramirez also left, but I think everyone has learned by now that he has no respect for the game.
