Thread: ABC:Wipeout+I Survived A Japanese Gameshow=LOL

Ahh, it is rare that a mainstream TV network can air TWO reality TV shows that entertain me and give me some good laughs, but ABC has definitely done it this summer.

Wipeout, a TV show loosely based off of Japan's Most Extreme Elimination Challenge TV show, pits the cream of America's crop (LOL, yeah right) against one another in a series of hilarious obstacle courses in a quest to win $50,000. Great for some laughs, this show routinely sees contestants get owned in the face, and I would definitely recommend watching one or two of the episodes: Wipeout

Next, comes I Survived a Japanese Gameshow. Showcasing Japan's outrageous (and widely popular) gameshows, this show forces a group of Americans to compete in a never-ending stream of eye-popping and mind-defying games. Showing off what can be accomplished when a group of technology-loving, entertainment-starved Japanese and a bottle of sake are locked in a room for an extended period of time, this show definitely entertained me and got me thinking about my Japanese culture (damn my ancestors for not passing on that mystical language of theirs). I like wipeout because it does keep the Japanese game show in heart. But I hate watching I survived a Japanese Game show because it's just like watching MTV reality shows.

I haven't caught wipeout yet but I did manage to see I survived a japanese game show it made me laugh at how outrageous some of those japanese game shows. Wipeout reminds of the american version of MXC as well. It looks funny I will hopefully catch a few episodes.
I must agree with you asian that abc has pust some good ones out this summer.

the american one isn't as funny as the japanese one...

lets just say in translation, they tone down some of the jokes :-P
