craig's list scammers
i put up my first 2 posts on craigs list last night for my first time ever, i didn't know this is what happens after like 20 minutes.. well i got 4 replies the next day heres some of them lol:
Hello Seller,
I'm Dr.Kimberly Blair,an American but i reside in Canada, I came across your advert on the website and am interested in Purchasing your item which you offerered for sale. Due to the fact that i am in need of it,i am okay with the price and i'm willing to offer you an extra $50 for you to keep other buyers off,so please Kindly get back to me as soon as possible with the necessary answers to the question in mind,
Are you the first owner?
The present condition?
If possible pictures?
And I will also like you to know that my form of payment is through a Money Order..So, I would want you to keep all other buyer's off and also delete the advert from the website. Concerning payment my client will issue you a money order, since I don't have the funds in your currency. For convenient and easy transaction, I have a liable shipping agent who'd be responsible for the Pick up as soon as you receive payment for the item. I will therefore need the following information of yours to forward to my client before he sends the check.
NAME IN FULL........
ADDRESS IN FULL....
CITY...
STATE...
COUNTRY..........
ZIPCODE.......
CELL/OFFICE/HOME PHONE NUMBER.
I await your urgent response so that we can proceed further..
Regards,
Dr.Kimberly Blair..
I would love to pay for this item asap. I can have a certified cashiers check issued out to u. If this is cool with u get back to me with the name and address you want the check written out to. The check will be written out in excess, the reason is because my shipper will handle the shipment for me, so when u have the check take it to ur bank and have it cashed, deduct your charges and u will help send the remaining to my shipping agent. Do u have more pics u can email me? Hope its in the very good condition as described in the AD
Hello
I would like to buy your item which you want to sell on craigslist. I want to know if its still in good conditions for use and also if you can accept a certified check for payment as that is the only way i can have payment to you. The check will be delivered to you via mail just fews days after it has been mailed.
If you are ready to sell it to me, kindly get back with the informations below so i will use it to make payment to you immediately i get them from you.
1)Full Name
2)Full Address
3)Phone Numbers
I want you to know that i am ok with the price and i am not going any less for it. The Payment will be mailed before pick up and I'd be so glad if you can sell it to me as i would really love to buy the item as soon as possible. Please don't bother yourself about the pick up, i know a forwarding courier in the state that will take care of it .. you don't need to help load it, they will handle the pick up immediately you inform me that you got your payment and that you have cashed it, then i will contact them to come for the pick up of the item at the pick up location.
I will be waiting for your quick response.
Stay Blessed and Best Regards.
Steven Elder.
I mean who's dumb enough to fall for this shit.. i mean especially when you get like a bunch of e-mails that look almost identical.. lets be honest here

its not just the elderly, unless 60+ year olds are trying to sign up for a CSS Beta or CS: Pro (a couple Steam scams that some retards are falling for).
I wonder at times how people can be soooo stupid esp growing up with computers and knowing where to find out all this information and everything.

Re: craig's list scammers
Yeah, my wife and I were talking about this the other night. Craigslist needs to seriously revamp how it works, because it's literally overrun by scammers and spammers. God help you if you try to sell something remotely technological on that site. The last time I tried this with selling my old Treo 750, for every honest response I had, I got literally 7 scam responses alongside it. *headdesk*
At the very least, they need to suck it up and force people to authenticate or something. It seriously sucks.

Re: craig's list scammers
IF YOU POST ON CRAIGSLIST.. be prepared to receive twice as many fake responses compared to real ones...
ONLY DEAL LOCALLY... NEVER SHIP ANYTHING ON CRAIGSLIST.
MEET THEM IN PUBLIC. Where there are cameras
I am a craigslist guru. DO WHAT I SAY. (I watch craigslist like t.v)[quote author=...bigdog... link=topic=81507.msg1197022#msg1197022 date=1268327193]
