College Books: Don't get ripped off!

Remembered this post a while back on another site. Thought I'd share the info for TTP and hope it may help some of you college students in the future.

First of all, your campus bookstore should have an online site that lists their books:

$100 bucks used, and a $134 new, FUCK THAT

The site removed ISBN numbers for this reason. But that will be no problem.

Next, visit this site:

Since I don't have an ISBN number, I am searching by Author, and I found it.

Look at the prices

Of course, select the cheapest one, and it will redirect you to the site where it's sold:

Click on the lowest price:

And you're gravy. Keep in mind, INTERNATIONAL EDITION is the same exact book, but in softcover. It's cheaper and lighter. EDIT: Int. Editions may have different questions and such at end of chapters so just be careful about that...

The sites I usually bought from are Abebooks and TextbookX.com Shipping can take a while, give it 7 days from when you buy the book to arrive. Be patient because most of the time, the books come from India or China. If you're planning to sell these books, the bookstore won't buy them, and you're better off selling them to other students.

I just didn't buy books my senior year of college. I graduated so i think books are overrated.

Nice stuff for those looking for books thought. I've heard half.com is another option many people around here use to get them.

Half is decent sometimes too. This is kind of an all encompasing "google" for books I guess. If others have good sites or tips, please feel free to post up.

Ordered mine from amazon.com last week for a total of 100$ insavings, checked on their status yesterday and was told to expect them on sept 8..... da fuck. so i canceled the bloody orders and when and bought the books at the damn rape me in the ass bookstore now im down twice the money untill amazon refunds me...

amazon books are always 2-6 days for me....real quick.

I buy em used too...

my bio book for Summer I I was able to buy, with expedited shipping, for about 40 bucks...

sold it back to the book store on campus for almost 70 :-P
